photo editing apps for kindle image
Jenny
I just can't figure out what this app does.
Answer
Hi Jenny, QuickOffice app is available in both Kindle and Nook app stores and it allows editing of MS Office files (Word, etc.) I wouldn't recommend Kindle Fire to anyone though - reported issues with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc.
I'd recommend instead Nook Tablet (which is Nook Color 2) - it's been getting rave pro reviews on the web and it is the best device in it's class - much better than Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% Better), the best non-glare laminated screen (visibly noticeable difference in side by side tests in video playback and eBooks reading), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies, microSD slot (not on Kindle) and a microphone for Skype (not on Kindle), and much zippier performance during video playback and apps usage than choppy/laggy act of Kindle Fire according to many user reviews.
Also, Amazon's own web site has hundreds (more than 1800 now) of reviews of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device.

What tablet pc would be best to buy (narrowed down to two)?
Mac
So, I've narrowed it down to two possibilities:
1) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" Tablet
2) Microsoft Surface RT 10.6"
Both of these tablets have mixed user reviews which makes it more difficult to pick out the best. I like the Samsung Galaxy because of the s pen, the ability to edit and create photos, use it to take notes, tablet design ect.. I like the Microsoft Surface RT because it has a usb port I can use to either upload or download, microsoft office..
I've never used Windows 8 so I'm unsure how user friendly it is. Many find it lacking. What I want is a tablet that I can use to read my ebooks (kindle), be able to edit photos, use for word, excel, and powerpoint, be able to surf though the web easily. Capable of using Play Store. Also be able to view from tablet to t.v. I know that these tablets have similarities but I'm not that tech savy to know some of the differences. Plus I read that the Samsung Galaxy doesn't support flash player but can be downloaded, is this true? On the other hand a user said that the Microsoft Surface does support flash.
Sometimes I like to go online to view walkthroughs while I'm playing a game so I have to pause the game and head over to my desktop to view directions. Can either tablet support sites like ign.com and the such to view walkthroughs of video games?
any info you can provide is appreciated. If you have used these tablets before even better. I can get the tablets for approx. the same price so that doens't count as a pro or con
Answer
Hey Mac.
The Surface really has many mixed up reviews but the Galaxy Note 10.1 is really good at almost everything so there is no confusion on it.
Both devices offer a different OS. I prefer the Android OS because of the ease of use, the variety of apps, customizability. Whereas the Windows OS on Surface tablet is not so good for apps and other stuff.
The Galaxy Note has very minor advantages also like the Adobe flash support and better rear facing and front facing camera.
Galaxy Note 10 - Review from an actual user on overall performance (compared to Surface tab):
