Should i get the iphone 5 or 4?

I'm good for an upgrade with verizon. should i spend the 200 dollars for the iphone 5 or get the free upgrade for the iphone 4? is there a big difference? all i see thats different is that the iphone 5 is longer.. does it perform better? is it worth the extra money?

It all depends on the needs and budget; I would go with the 4s minimum because its almost similar(has all the core features of the 5) to the 5 except for the 720p extra facetime-camera(Lot of test shows no huge leap improvement from 4s except for the 720p on the facetime camera of course) and better gaming specs. For gaming I would go with 5 over 4 since if the 4s is 73% faster than the 4, it would make 5 more than twice as fast and without a huge hit on battery life(seems same as the 4s but with a processor speed bump of almost 50%, more ram, etc...).

it will automatically do it when you plug it in, weather you have aperture or iphoto. when i plug my iphone 4 in it will open aperture for example. if it doesnt do it automatically, go ahead and do it manually from device, iphone section in itunes. its like a file layout and on the top it will say photo, apps, music. etc. click photos and sync to iphoto or aperture.

Q. okay, so i know apple had the meeting and debut of the iphone 4s. can you tell me everything about it inside and out? and i heard it was the same as the iphone 4 so does that mean the iphone 4 cases and protective screens will fit on an iphone 4s?

Q. I wanted to try and do some editing on some photos with my iPhone. I found a bunch of apps, but they all seem solely oriented for Instagram. They all felt like they were meant to touch up your face, and add unnecessary tint effects. What I am looking for is something that can snap to the border of an object, and let you modify that. Am I asking for too much with this? I know that the whole touch screen thing makes it more difficult, but I can still hope.

You already have "depth of field". If you mean SHALLOW depth of field, then you cannot do it with such a device. You need a camera with a MUCH larger sensor and a lens in the medium telephoto range with a selectable aperture of 2.8 or less.

Please realize that a phone is not a real camera. It can take some photos as a bonus, but it can never do what a proper camera can do. Also, "apps" are not photography and cannot perform actual photographic techniques.
