What are some really cool android apps?

Yunmila

Answer
All top apps at the play store are real cool. It just depends on what you're looking for. Personally, I'll recommend picsart for photo editing, player pro for music, droid vpn for Wi-Fi privacy, AIDE for app development on mobile, temple run, angry birds, shadow gun for fps gaming, nfs and asphalt for races, mxplayer for hd videos, uc browser for browsing, easy battery saver, whatsapp/wechat, titanium backup.

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx?

Squirrel N

So my husband and I just ordered the Motorola droid razr maxx and I am giving up my iPhone 4 for it. Good decision or bad?

Answer
Great decision!

The Razr Maxx did not get "horrible" reviews from Consumer Reports. The CR overall score is 80 out of a possible 100. This phone was rated excellent in all categories but three. Two were a very good rating and one good rating. CR rated this phone higher than any current smartphone that Verizon has and was second only to the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (AT&T) which has a score of 81.

CR's Take
With its phenomenal battery life, the Droid Razr Maxx will give you more time to enjoy its many high-definition, high-speed, charms at full throttle without being tethered to a charger.

Highs
⢠Outstanding battery life, with 13.25 hours of talk time
⢠Superb 4.3-inch high-resolution display with excellent keypad readability under most lighting conditions, even in bright light
⢠Exceptional ease of use, messaging, and Web browsing
⢠Excellent e-mail readability and attachment capabilities
⢠Lets you create and edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets out of the box
⢠Very good photo quality
⢠Supports fast 4G data networks, which lets Verizon users, for the first time, be on a phone call while surfing the Web
⢠Uses versatile Android operating system, with access to many apps and services
Lows
⢠Larger than many of the smart phones we've tested
⢠Has a non-removable battery
⢠Fair voice quality when listening
⢠Lacks a physical button for quick phone access, and its virtual keypad makes it hard to enter a number without looking
⢠Lacks preset text messages and doesn't let you create your own presets

If there are "a lot" of flaws in the software, I've not seen them. This phone gets rave reviews from the vast majority of its users.

I have heard a rumor of a new Razr that is reported as the Razr Maxx HD. From what I have seen it is identical to the Razr Maxx except the screen is 4.6 inch (Razr Maxx is 4.3 inch). I wouldn't expect to see this phone released in the 3 weeks.

I am graduating from high school and someone wants to get me an ipad as a grad present. Is it worth getting or should i take cash instead?
I feel really spoiled being in this situation. One side of my family is getting me the laptop and the other maybe the ipad or cash and i just got the droid becasue i desperately needed a new phone. I really like the ipad but im not sure

Answer
Get the iPad.iPad will instill good habits in you because interface is so appealing that you will start reading books and books are best friends.

Even if you don't create PowerPoint presentation or hate excel spreadsheet formulas, you will be creating lot of them on iPad because iPad has totally new approach to these functions.

It can be directly connected to projector so you can show presentation. Watching movies online is charm and gaming is game changer.

Battery easily lasts for 15 hours that makes it even more useful.I never go anywhere without my iPad because I can do almost all my office work on right from making word document to joining meeting remotely.

Why I like iPad the most is it's ability to access content from from app to another. I create a word document using app Pages and upload to googleDoc,drop box or anywhere with just one tap and then access my work from other apps like GoodReader or Downloader.

The time, a computer takes to boot, is enough for an iPad to finish many jobs.

Photo editing is incredible. Reading magazine and Newspaper have become enticing.Watching sports action is spectacular.
It's so light and thin but still does everything that regular user would do on a computer.

If somebody says it doesn't support flash so you won't be able to online video, don't believe because I use iPad everyday and watch online video all the time. Flash is past HTML5 is in.

Should I get the Motorola Droid, Blackberry Storm 2, or wait for the next greatest VZW phone?

I currently have a blackberry curve and I am looking to upgrade. My curve is not broken or anything so I am in no hurry. I have been looking at the new phones and they seem to do a lot more than my curve does. LOL

Answer
I have had several Blackberry phones over the last 2 years. Started with the Curve 8830 and fell in love with it! Since then I have had the Tour, Storm, and Storm 2. I LOVED my Storm 2, but when my brother got a Droid, I had to return my Storm 2 for the Droid. It is an AWESOME phone. It is totally customizable and has push email for Gmail or other email (except Yahoo unless you pay Yahoo's fee to be able to port your email). The App Store has tons of Apps for anything from games to photo editing to a flashlight (which BB also has a flashlight app). The drawbacks are the thing about Yahoo email and the slide-out keypad sucks on the Droid. Even tho the keypad on the Storm was a virtual qwerty keypad, I liked it MUCH better than the Droid's keypad.

At times I really miss my Storm 2, but there is just so much more available on the Droid that I try to suffer through the terrible keypad usage daily.

As far as the upgrade goes, there are a few new phones coming out on Verizon next year, including the Palm Pre (which I am personally going to have to try out), the BB Tour 2, and a couple of other Android phones which don't seem like they are going to overpower the Droid.

I can't tell you which way to go because I am constantly on the fence about phones (friends call me the eBay queen because that's where I get most of my phones). The browser is excellent on the Droid and is just okay on the Storm 2 as far as the speed goes. I guess you just have to decide which is more important to you. Like I say, I debate on selling my Droid even tho I really like it and getting a Storm 2 every day, so I may be of no help! I may just have to face facts that I am a Crackberry addict for life! Hahaha!
