How to edit photos like this?

Jacquelyn

I was looking to find out how to edit photo to look like this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kasey-williams/8624614219/lightbox/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyle_thompson/8755389090/in/faves-kasey-williams/

I believe it's just layering and erasing extra/unneeded parts, but I just want to be sure.

Answer
layering and collages would work well. Use apps such as piccollage, etc.

Free ipod effects apps?

Jaki

I need free apps so i can edit my photos.. ._.

Answer
There are plenty of good free photo editing apps.

For the pop effects, iBooth is quite cool, with kaleidoscope, pop art, and black and white graphics, such as sketch, etc. It also has a timer, and picture strip effects.

Pudding Cam changes your camera to various different ones, like vintage, rainbow and double lens. I haven't had much experience with this one, but it could be interesting to try as it has many different effects and things to play with.

Photoshop Express is a free app too. It does stuff like changing brightness, hue, saturation, contrast, auto enhance, etc. the effects it has are also quite interesting and worth checking out. It's interface is quite easy to use too.

Cam Wow Pro is an app that changes the effects as you take the photos.

Picture Magic is a cool app that lets you layer effects. It's more advanced, with many more options, and may be good if you want more than pre-done effects.

And Instagram is easy to use with many filters. If you don't want your photos to be shared, your account can be changed to private.

These are just the apps I use/have used and enjoyed, there are many more to be found on the app store.

Valerie

Hello, folks. I currently have the Ipad 2. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a photo-editing software (free), that includes layers? The winner will be determined on which application works the best, thank you!!

Answer
To many people's surprise, the iPad is a great photo editor. Photogene, Filterstorm, PhotoForge - there are tons to try out.
