hey, josh here,
my top free apps would have to be:
facebook - this is very useful so that you can keep in contact with your friends
Remote - with this app you can control itunes on your computer from anywhere within your wifi zone. (there are many of these apps, some are free and some are paid... i have 4, remote, VLC Remote, iRemote, Snatch... each do different things)
TV Guide - find out whats on what channel
Ebay - keep track of any sales or bid you want to make
Dactyl - this is a fun game, the aim of it is to stop the bombs from blowing up
Top Paid apps would be:
Video safe - with this app you can store videos and apps that you dont want people to see... it has a feature called "snoop stopper" when enabled, if someone try's to get into your safe but types the code wrong 3 times it takes them to a default page where there are a few meaningless photos. (£2.39)
Colour Splash - this app allows you to allows you to quickly and easily edit photos (£1.19)
Call of Duty Zombies - this is a really fun game that Activision released due to its popularity on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC... this game is a lot of fun and i have spent many hours playing it (£5.99)
All EA games - all of the EA games released have been made to very high standards there are many popular titles such as Fifa 10, Madden NFL, The Sims 3, Monopoly... the list goes on and on) (ranges from £1.19 - £5.99)
My favorite app would have to be Facebook just because it is so convenient i use it all the time... it is so easy to use and best of all, its free :)
If you want to look at any of the apps you can check them out on the app store... you will find this on itunes or when you get your ipod you will be able to do it straight from there
have fun with your new ipod...
Merry Christmas

Answer
I know there is a new catch phrase around: "There's an app for that", but guess what...... not EVERYTHING is done via apps.
Sometimes, we still need to learn how to do something and need to make an effort to get to the result.
Other times, there really IS an app for it, but doing it yourself the "hard" way gives far superior results.
Learn how to use a proper image "editing" program.
Adobe Photoshop, PS Elements, PaintShopPro, Gimp or even Photoscape (the last two are free).
Using a website is fine if you only want to do a few photos, but resident programs are the much better option if you have more or want to do this regularly. If it MUST be a free website, try http://pixlr.com/ or http://www.sumopaint.com/ or http://aviary.com/ .
Re question #1:
Open the girl photo
Add a galaxy shot as another layer
Add a layer mask and shape the âcloudâ with a very soft edged brush on the layer mask
Go to blending modes, choose drop shadow and work the various options until the shadow looks right.
About question #2:
There are countless tutorials aroundâ¦.. it would only take you a few seconds on Google to find them all.
Levitation pictures
Here are the Photoshop steps - if you have a different program, the same principles still apply. If you're only using a website, it may not work - most websites are much more limited. If you want/need something better but can't afford Photoshop, just download Gimp - it is free and legal.
1.Put the camera on a tripod and do NOT let it move even a tiny bit
2.Take a photo of the room/area without any people or furniture in the way
3.Take a photo with your subject on a stool/ladder/box/whatever. Drape the clothes to hide any straight lines that will be obvious later on.
4.Open both photos in their own layer, the empty room/area as the bottom layer
5.Apply a layer mask to the top layer, and use a black pen/brush to hide the stool/ladder. Now the "clean" layer will show through.
6.Flatten the layers.
7.Use the burn tool with a very soft brush to create a shadow under your floating subject to make it all look more realistic.
