Samsung Galaxy Nexus vs iPhone 4S?

Aleksandar

I was watching reviews and everything on both phones.
They both have their positives and negatives, the one thing that upsets me about the Nexus is that it has a bad camera, the thing that upsets me about the iPhone is that it has a tiny screen.

Anyways, what phone is better overall?

Answer
I have had the same exact problem. Well first off to address your worries the nexus does have a less quality camera when compared to the newer cameras in phones like the iPhone 4s. But, that doesn't mean it is bad by any means. In fact, it is a good and decent camera, but what makes up for it is its literally zero shutter lag, so you can take shots extremely fast. You also have a wide variety of editing software, enhancements and so on that makes the experience even better. A phone camera isn't a camera you are going to do any super series photo taking with, so I the galaxy nexus camera, should be just fine. Plus, it was even better than the iPhone 4s's camera in certain conditions. Now, the iPhone's tiny screen is definitely a personal preference. It allows the iphone to fit more comfortable in your hand, and for you to be able to reach the whole entire screen just by holding it in one hand and using your finger. But if you are a big media person, who likes to watch movies and such, or you have poor eyesight, or you simply have big hands, go with the nexus. The nexus screen is just as great as the iPhone's, being at a 720p HD resolution, the first of it's kind. Now, if the nexus hadn't released with google's ice cream sandwich update, i would have said go with apple. I previously had a high end android phone and it was the worst experience ever. Lag, crashing, HORRIBLE battery life, I didn't even want to use my phone. But with android ice cream sandwich, it fixes all that. It makes the UI look more unified, it stops any lag or crashing, and adds some great features. On top of this battery reports have said the life is average, and if you have any trouble simply go to the Verizon store and pick up a new bigger 2100mAh battery they are selling, which should fix all problems. Android has caught up and fixed all problems they were lacking to apple. A new clean, simplified, and unified os design. More content, with google books, music, etc. Both now go head to head. So i would say go apple if you like a smaller device, if you already invested a lot of money into apple services like itunes or the app store, or if you are simply an apple user of its products like owing a mac, using iCal, using pages and keynote, etc. The same goes with google, go with the nexus if you use google calandar, docs, its several apps, etc. As of right now, they are close to being about equal. So if the tiny screen bugs you a lot and makes the phone simply hard to use and you can't deal with it go with the nexus. If the nexus camera is not able to please you enough to where you would switch phones simply for a better camera go with iphone. Oh and one more thing, the nexus has the option to use 4G on Verizon, so if you are in a 4G area supported, then add this in to consideration. But if you don't live near a 4G supported city, don't take this into consideration because it would be just a wasted feature, and could possibly drain battery life. So if you are near 4G and really want it, go with nexus because iphone does not yet support it. Last, i recommend going into a local store and trying both phones out. Maybe, just maybe, when you use one of them you will fall in love with it and want to get that one.

IPhone 5, or Samsung Galaxy S4?

Satan.

I started dating this guy I've known for years, and he keeps trying to keep me away from Apple (which I adore.) He convinced me to switch from my beloved iPhone 4S to an HTC One X, which fucking sucks. (i've had it 7 months and its already almost completely destroyed!) After this phone and the phones my friends have, I'm scared to try any new Android products. I want to switch to the 5 when my contract is up in a month, but my boyfriend is trying to keep me on droid, saying the S4 is the best. I don't believe him about phones anymore lol. So, which one should I choose? I don't care much for fancy processors or stuff. I just text, get on reddit, listen to music, and take pics for instagram. I don't need much. Thanks in advance :)

Answer
This is why I believe that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is better than the iPhone 5
1. It is quicker (1.9 quad core processor/ 1.6ghz Octa core vs 1.3 dual core processor)

2. Microsd- you can expand the memory with a 64gb microsd. This a cheaper way to expand your memory and you can have a 16 gb S4 and still have more storage than iphone 5 if you get a 64gb microsd.

3. USB OTG- you can read usb keys no problem with an adapter so you can check out what's on them so you don't have to put your computer on.

4. Microusb charger- Better than the lighting connector as you can get them easily and cheaply but also you might have it from other devices as it is becoming standard for smartphones to use micro-usb chargers.

5. Removable battery- This means you can replace the battery if you run out of charge when you are around unlike the iphone 5 which you have to charge or bring an external charger and charge it from there, however this is an awkward way of charging your phone. Also the removable battery can help you prevent water damage as you can remove the battery if it falls in water, thus reducing the chances of water damage.

6. NFC- Want to transfer a music album quicker than bluetooth, well now you can with NFC. You can also use Tectiles 2 to make your life easier

7. Customizable- Change launcher(Are you bored, get a new launcher that suits you and your personality), custom ROM your phone and have access to apps specifically made for rooted devices directly on the play store. You control the device so that it suits you.

8. Dropbox- Love cloud storage well Samsung is offering 50gb free of charge to S4 owners for 2 years on Dropbox. Backup music, video, photos(this can be done automatically), documents etc. Who doesnât want this amount of free cloud storage?(You have to complete a certain amount of steps to get the free storage but none requires any credit card details or anything to complicated) (N.B Not everyone will be offered this bonus as carriers have been known to have stopped Samsung from offering this to customers)

9. Screen- Itâs bigger but not too big. It has 441ppi vs iPhone 5âs 326ppi plus the Amoled screen creates beautiful colors.
I also found no problems when using one hand, and I have medium hands if not small hands. Also I mostly use the Note 2 and it fits in all my pockets, suit trousers, jeans, tracksuits so the S4 will certainly fit in virtually all pockets

10. Android features-Widgets, live wallpapers, Google Now and all the beauty of android, widgets on the lockscreen etc

11. Samsung added features
a. Smartstay- won't turn the screen off if you are still looking at it.
b. Smartpause- pauses a video when you turn around and turns it back on when you turn back
c. Eye controlled webpage scrolling
d. Airview- check link to learn more http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-S-4-display-Air-View-and-Air-Gesture-demoed-on-video_id40881
e. Infrared TV remote
f. External temperature and humidity sensors
g. Use the phone while using gloves
h. S Health- useful for health enthusiasts
i. S Translator- itâs all in the name a translator
j. Blocking Mode- activate it to block things like calls, notifications, messages, LED indicator etc
k. Power Saving Mode- Can be used to save power by limiting the processor speeds, turning of Haptic feedback, using less power for the screen and changing the color in the stock browser and email app
l. Home screen modes- for beginners it makes the home screen setup easier
m. Etc- I could go on but check the link to see even more features http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-S4-10-exclusive-or-little-known-features-review_id41541

12. Camera- It has a 13mp camera vs iPhone 5âs 8mp. It has more features than than the iPhoneâs camera which makes it even better.( http://www.businessinsider.com/htc-one-galaxy-s4-iphone-5-camera-test-2013-4 this link shows how the S4 has the best smartphone camera)
a. Dual shot- take photos from both cameras so that you can include the photographer in a photo
b. Photo with audio message- record a message before or after a photo to add to a photo
c. Eraser shot- can remove unwanted moving content
d. Drama shot- takes pictures of a moving object and puts the moving object through the whole picture
e. More but those are the best

13. Multitasking- watch videos while online, write an email while watching a video, send a message while surfing the web, you can split the screen in two so you can multitask without a bother, this cannot be done on the iPhone 5.

14. Durability- The S4 does not suffer from scratches like the iphone 5 where the back of the phone is aluminium and scratches really easy, the S4 does not suffer this fate.

Hope this helped
Enjoy your new phone (no matter which one it is)
