I'm deliberating getting an iPhone because I've heard it's a great phone for a high school / college student. Aside from games, what are your favorite apps? Any great school-related ones that you would recommend?
Oh, you can also include ones that are non-educational, too. : ) I just happen to be a freak about school. And personally, I don't have the patience for games, but if you'd recommend anyone quirky, unique, or somehow useful apps that's perfectly fine. : )
Answer
The iPhone has truly revolutionized my technological life and been a daily asset to me since 2007 when I first took a bite out of that marvelous little Apple. If you can afford the iPhone and its obligatory monthly fees, I highly recommend it because it's like having quite literally dozens of devices - a camera, calculator, GPS navigator, language translator, iPod and oh so much more - all neatly compiled into one that easily slides into the pocket of your jeans.
I got the first generation iphone the summer I was fifteen and heading into my junior year of high school, and it's since been passed down to my youngest sister, but I'll try to remember all the apps I had on it to help me with my classes and prepping for college.
~ Graphing Calculator
~ Periodic table for chemistry
~ SAT Vocabulary
~ SAT Test Prep
~ "5 Steps for a 5" Study Guide to AP US History, and AP Psychology
~ Alpha Exam (AP guides that are far less thorough, but still helpful)
~ Flash cards
~ CliffsNotes to Go (they have them for heaps of books and are only 99 cents apiece)
~ EZ Read: this app has all the content on SparksNotes website, and also includes helpful literary quizzes
~ Peterson's College Guide: this app is a wonderful resource, but it runs a bit slow. I still give it a thumbs up, especially since it's free. It's essentially the CliffsNotes version of their phonebook-thick guide.
~ Egiate: this is an awesome, free college guide app that is really well maintained.
Of all the apps listed, McGraw-Hill's "5 Steps for a 5" study guides were the most beneficial. They are around $10 each, and I credit them for helping me to do so well on my exams because were really sharpened my knowledge on those subjects.
I upgraded to the 32gb 3GS iPhone last fall, and am even more delighted with it than its predecessor. I have 11 pages of apps, so this answer would be so long your eyes would glaze over if I explained each one, but I took a screen shot of them and put them on my Photobucket for you, and you just email me if you have specific questions.

I am posing a mini-guide to my iPhone on my blog and will send the link to you and either edit and add it here and put it in a comment.

Edit: snickerfazzle. I thought I could make just the album with the iPhone apps public and keep the rest of my pictures private, but Photobucket is not cooperating. I'll try to figure out a way to share the screenshots of the iphone with you with you without giving the rest of the world access to my baby photos.

I love taking pictures of me and my friends and editing them to look really nice.( not too weird like twisted faces...no lol) I have the iphone 3GS and will buy some not too expensive in case I don't like it but I will take any suggestions to free or paid, also know of any thing else I might like doesn't have to be camera apps. (I'm 14 so no old lady weird apps) Thanks!(:
