Blackberry Playbook or Nook Tablet?

ths0127

Pros and cons of each? Consider them at same price because I can get them both for same price. Which would you pick? Gift for someone that will use it primarily for Netflix, email, and storing/editing photos

Answer
Hi, ths0127, RIM PlayBook is the same as Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet is better than both - and pro reviewers agreed:
PCWORLD:
The Nook Tablet's unique display has less reflectivity than the Kindle Fire's, and so is easier to read. In addition, some fonts and videos render more sharply on it than on the Fire. The dual-core 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP 4 CPU and 1GB of RAM made switching from app to app a breeze, with little lag or stuttering. Movies played smoothly and stutter-free in Netflix, and the high-definition images re-rendered for Nook's 1024-by-600-pixel display looked lovely, with terrific contrast.
The Nook Tablet's display was dazzling overall. The screen's glare was minimal, thanks to what Barnes & Noble calls its VividView display. The IPS display is laminated and bonded; so unlike on other tablets's displays--including the Kindle Fire's--there's no annoying, visible air gap between the glass screen and the LCD beneath. The Nook Tablet's home screen is highly customizable and provides quick access to apps and reading material.

CNET:
We streamed Netflix side by side with the Kindle Fire, and head-to-head comparisons were very favorable to the Nook--it simply looked better. Both tablets have the same app, but the Nook Tablet's picture looked more vivid and detailed. The Nook Tablet also has physical volume controls on the side, which come in handy--the Kindle Fire strangely lacks them. The screen, which is a higher-quality IPS display than the Kindle Fire, really shows off Netflix and Hulu Plus to amazing effect...
It's the best screen on a budget tablet that I've ever seen. More storage--both onboard (16GB) and via microSD expansion--and the ability to read EPUB files could be big news for those who want flexibility. There's plenty of expansion room, and you'll have a hard time running out of space for your apps or your magazine downloads.

Bloomberg:
Barnes & Nobleâs one-year head start in developing software really shows: scrolling is smoother, the screen reorients itself faster and the device just generally feels zippier.

How do I transfer my pics and music from my laptop to my Samsung Galaxy Note 2?

I just upgraded my phone from a Iphone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and boy of boy are they different. I love the new phone but I hate the fact that they don't come with papers,a booklet,or even a disc to learn about them. Atleast with the iphone I had Apple support, which I had to pay for. But so far anything I need to know about the phone I have to look it up online, like how to check my voice mail, how to turn on the hot spot, how to how to lol but I have not been able to figure out how to transfer stuff from my computer to it. I have all my music and ringtones I had made with the iphone still on my computer,I have it in itunes and in my windows media. I still have to keep itunes cause my husband has a iphone and I have a ipod. I have alot of pictures and music I want to transfer from the laptop to the phone or copy and send but I can't figure out how. Also when I am on facebook with the phone, how do you save pics? Thank you to all answers in advance and if you think of anything else that you think I might need to know about the phone please include,it seems I don't know how to do anything with it yet, took me a bit to figure out how to text and add apps but that and talking and web searching is all I have done so far. The thing is smarter than me lol.

Answer
I know exactly how you feel. I received my ATT Galaxy Note 2 at the end of January. Even though I'm a computer Professional/Technician, this was my official first smart phone and I had no idea how to use it at all.. I had never used Android before, either.

Well, the day I received it in the mail, I went to Staples and bought a 32GB MicroSD card and then went next door to an ATT store and had them install for free. I told the guy I just got the phone today and he showed me the basics.. like how to hold it to create or remove additional Home Screen. Over time, I learned all the tricks and I think I've become an expert on this phone.

To answer your question... about copying over music and photos. BEFORE you do this, let me tell you that the Note 2 officially comes with 16GB of storage, but after all the preinstalled apps, you will have about 9GB of usable storage left. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you install a MicroSD card FIRST before you start loading up on media files because you will use up all the phone's storage space in no time. You should be able to find a 32GB card for under $30. Staples had some on sale recently...

METHOD #1
Connect the cable to your computer... should automatically detect your phone... once that is done, your phone will be shown in Computer as a storage device. To copy over your music, just select the files you want to put on your phone and copy them over to the folder that says Music... they will be automatically recognized. For Photos, pictures and videos taken with the phone's camera are stored in the folder DCIM/Camera. There is also another folder on the phone called PICTURES... You can copy stuff to that location too...

If you install a MicroSD card, this all becomes a lot easier for you. I created the following folders on my card: Videos, Wallpaper, Music, & Ringtones. So when I want to copy something onto my phone, I just connect the cable.. and copy/paste the files into their respected folder.

METHOD #2
This next method might be easier for you if you're not comfortable with folders. Just download and install Samsung Kies... It's like their version of iTunes for their devices. It will handle all the media syncing between your device and computer and make backups of your apps and data.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'll let you know about a few hidden secrets with the phone. Most people don't realize there is a button on the S Pen. You can use the button to edit your texts... and taking screen shots. Keeping your finger pressed on the screen opens up a context menu that allows you to create a Folder on your screen, change wallpaper, or go directly to Apps or Widgets.

The Phone comes with a great File Explorer app called My Files. When you first use it, it seems bland and generic. However, after playing around with it I discovered it's one of my most important apps. You can Add Shortcuts to the links that are displayed. For instance, on my phone, I links to all the important locations I have on my phone that I might have something stored. So I created links (shortcuts) to: Videos, Ring Tones, Screenshots, Wallpaper, and eBooks. So when I want to go to those locations, it's very quick and easy for me.

There is another file manager called ES File Explorer. This is a very useful app because it can be configured to connect to your wireless router and allow you to access shared folders (or any folder you choose) from your phone. so if I want, I can use it to open up my music or video folder on my desktop and stream the media file and play it from my phone. Very useful if you have a huge video collection.

There are tons of other stuff... but you get the idea. If you have any more questions... just send me a message and I'll be happy to offer you some advice or quick tips since I know so much about the Galaxy Note 2. View my Answer History and you'll find other stuff I've said about the Note 2.

Bend Android Vieos apps to upload the pictures and videos?

nicevenu

i have samsung android phone. due to my son videos my phone is full. I am lazy to use cable in uploading the photos. Even then you have to sync from laptop to storage. its 3 step process. If i want to sync my videos and photos to online storages such as box, google drive, dropbox..which one is easiest app?
1) App should recognize the photos and videos automatically and sync automatically.
2) Should be free.
3) App should have large storage.
4) Need both photos and videos.
5) After syncing if its deleted on the phone, then its must better.

Answer
I recommend Sugarsync and Dropbox apps. Both provide free storage apps and you can upload videos, pictures and other online stuff there.

Sugarsync enables the user to gain access to data, edit and easily upload photos and videos anytime and anywhere. With Sugarsync app your pictures and videos will be in safe hands and will be available when you need them. With many options available to back up your precious memories online, Video and picture are the most convenient and widely used option for those who are concerned of losing data present on hard drives

Dropbox has better user interface. You can not find any hassle in uploading and sharing your pictures and videos. These uploaded files, videos and images are monitored by the Dropbox service on continuous basis. You can store and retrieve your videos as well, making the Dropbox an effective tool to serve the purpose of online video storage

The mobile app offered by the Dropbox supports iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry devices. Photos and videos taken from hand held devices can be directly uploaded to the site.

I also found the list free cloud storage app services including both of them. I recommend to go through them then make the final move.

Do you guys think I should wait for the iphone 6?

new iphone photo apps 2012 on iphone6
new iphone photo apps 2012 image

John

I have the galaxy note 2 and I want to get a iphone bc of the music and apps and the well fashion part of it. I would have to cancel my contract which is 200 dollars plus 199 for the phone. I was thinking that maybe I can just get an ipod and wait for the iphone 6. What do you guys think I should do

Answer
Why would you downgrade ?
Even if free you are considering $399.

You really should remind yourself why you bought the NOTE 2 (specifications) and ignore the quite brilliant and persuasive yet FACTUALLY AMBIGUOUS adverts that come out of the orchard

Here is an earlier answer to IP5 or S IV
Not an IPhone

Definitely NOT an IP5 as I don't want to downgrade

Reasons
1)The Samsung Galaxy S II (2)was released in MAY 2011 & has 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor with an 8Mp camera.

18 months later November 2012 Apple puts a 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor & 8Mp camera in a phone and call it the IP5

2)The SGS II is the Dual Core version of the Quad Core SGS III both SGS II & SGS III have won 6 PHONE OF THE YEAR AWARDS.

3)The SGS II is superior and has features not even on the Uber expensive IPhone5.
Not MY opinion proof http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=4238

4) ALL NON APPLE phones you have BLUETOOTH MEDIA TRANSFER (SHARING) photos / music cannot be shared if one phone is an iPhone

5-12) http://finance.yahoo.com/news/8-things-the-iphone-5-still-can-t-do.html?_view=desktop&desktop_view_default=true

If you want the BEST DUAL CORE PHONE MADE BY SAMSUNG TO DATE UNTIL THE S4 MINI comes along get the SGS II, half the price TWICE AS GOOD, those 8 things yes you've guessed it SGS II, CAN DO.

Or put another way the 5th Samsung phone is superior to the best iPhone
S IV; SGS III & NOTE 2 [Quad Core] S 4Mini SGS II

The IP5 IS OVERPRICED, many EG BB Z10 are vastly superior. Apple is years behind

Your move will be retrograde from Quad to Dual

How do I sync my iPhone to a new computer without everything being erased?

My old PC died. I am trying to sync my iPhone 3GS with a new laptop. When I go to sync it, it prompts me to erase my iPhone and replace the data with that on the new computer- thus losing music, videos, photos, apps, etc. I am sure this must be a widespread problem. Please help me! BTW...I am not computer savvy.

Well there is a program that Apple offers called "home sharing" It allows you to Sync your iPhone/iPod to up tp five computers at a time! I am not sure if you need your old computer for it to work though...

How to sync iPhone with new itunes without losing data?

Kate M

My laptop broke and so now I have no itunes to sync my iphone with. Luckily I have all my music on a different computer. Is there a way I can sync my iphone with the other computer (to update etc) without losing all my data: contacts, notes, photos, apps etc?

Answer
Auto sync with new computer will erase iphone contents those not purchased from itunes store, but the contacts will be kept, notes not sure.
itunes blocks this function since itunes is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to iphone. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between iphone and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of jailbreaking my iPhone?

10 iphone photo apps on Amazon iPhone App | iPhone Techie

FRAGEN

I have an iPhone 4 and I've been thinking about jailbreaking it, but I'm not sure about the advantages and disadvantages. If I decide to, what is the best program to use? Are there risks? Will it delete all my data and can I unjailbreak it? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Answer
Cons:
1. Lag. It's usually not even noticed unless you're using an older iPhone model. I notice that stock apps take about 1 second longer to open, but that's about it.
2. Battery life might be slightly decreased.
3. You can't hit that update button in iTunes the second it appears. Well, you can, but you might temporarily lose your untethered jailbreak, so it's best to wait. If you do this anyway and then decide you want to roll back the firmware, you can do that as long as you have your SHSH saved. They are automatically saved after the first one.

Pros (There are a lot more than this. These are just some of the highlights):
1. The freedom to do things outside the scope of an application and the ability to install apps that were not approved for the App Store for various reasons.
2. Fast access to settings toggles.
3. Full access to the file system.
4. Customization and themeing.
5. Custom gestures and buttons for features, such as a springboard pinch to activate the flashlight and double tap the lockscreen clock to open phone favorites.
6. Managing photos and videos on the iPhone (create folders without iTunes).
7. Enhancing stock apps. Add a download manager to Safari, save attachments in email, add a download feature to YouTube, pull to refresh Safari, access WiFi only apps, such as FaceTime, on 3G, and add a navigate button to Maps (opens in Navigon or TomTom).
8. Live weather on the lockscreen and springboard.
9. Accelerate animations in the GUI.
10. Add more folder options and improve the task switcher.
11. Enable iOS direct printing (AirPrint) for non-supported printers.
12. Bluetooth media file transfers to and from other phones.
13. Better text messaging apps. Send and reply to texts on the lock screen and from within apps.
14. Action Menu customizations. This adds additional functions, such as favorites, dial and to bottom, to the stock cut, copy and paste functionality.
15. Add a user agent faker toggle so you can quickly switch between mobile and full site website browser user agents.
16. Free tethering.
17. Managing music without iTunes.

____________________________________________________________

With that being said, if you do decide to jailbreak your device, you can do it by going to this link:
http://www.ios-source.com/how-to-jailbreak-the-iphone

You would jailbreak it with Redsn0w. It will not delete all your data, but you should backup your device before you jailbreak it, just in case something goes wrong. You can only unjailbreak by restoring your device with iTunes.

I'd recommend jailbreaking your device. Mine is jailbroken, and I'm glad I did it.

Help me find the right tablet?

photo editing apps for xoom on see our Facebook page: www.facebook.com Motorola Xoom Review: The Xoom ...
photo editing apps for xoom image

Detroit Do

Budget - Preferably $300-$450

OS - Android (possibly Windows)

Camera - Must have front facing, and rear WITH FLASH.

Must have USB, HDMI, card reader, and bluetooth.

Does NOT need to have 3 or 4G.

Must be able to stream videos from the HBO GO website, must have Skype compatibility.

Screen size - 10.1 or larger.

What I want it for: I take a lot of pictures and video, and would like to be able to resize and lighten/darken pictures fairly easily. Storing them on the tablet is not a need, as I do have a large external HD. I would really like to be able to hook it to my 1080p TV to stream online videos in a fairly good resolution without a lot of pixelation or lag. I understand that the quality of streaming videos isn't perfect, but I would like it to be watchable on a large HD TV. I like to Skype, and this feature is a must have.

I currently have a netbook, and I like it... but the Atom processor, and VGA only output makes watching streaming video on my TV almost unbearable. The video becomes very blurry and pixelated when using the netbook for that purpose.

I mostly use my netbook for facebook, youtube, games, bill pay, and other communication. I used to do web design, but not anymore. I also used to do a lot of art on my computer, but also not anymore. That is why a netbook has been good for me, so I figure if I can find a tablet that is comparable the switch will be fine for me. I have a much older laptop that I can and do use for more resource consuming activities.

Can anyone help me pick out a tablet?

I have researched the Toshiba Thrive, and like it a lot... However it lacks a flash on the rear facing camera, and from what I have heard, it is not Skype Compatible. It would be perfect for me except for those two things.

I also like the Asus Transformer, but that lacks USB ports unless you pay an extra $150 for the keyboard attachment.

If there is a tablet out there that combines those two together and is Skype compatible, I haven't found it. Maybe someone on here knows something I don't?

Thank-you in advance!

Answer
Not sure that any one tablet out there can meet all your needs, but here are two possibilities for you:

1. Apple iPad2 - I know this wasn't on your list, but it has everything you need, except the camera flash. There are apps like the Iris Photo Suite that have several photo editing features, plus a bunch of other photo manipulation and editing apps in the store. Skype, I understand, works well on the iPad2. As much as I hate recommending the iPad2, it does have the best user experience, and the software/hardware integration makes swiping, scrolling, etc so very fluid.

2. Motorola Xoom - Has all the capabilities and ports as the Toshiba Thrive, but with a rear-facing flash for the camera. The screen quality is just a tad better on the Thrive since its a IPS display (better viewing angles, better colors). Like all Android Honeycomb tablets, Skype is available, but buggy. Video is not supported and there are complaints of having to turn off the device to end calls. Android tablets run flash, but are annoyingly slow. You can view flash-enabled websites and watch flash video, but heavy animations are choppy and flash games are virtually unplayable (any of the facebook flash games will not work well). Honestly, I don't know why its so heavily pushed as a selling point, other than to say its something Apple doesn't have. The lack of hardware acceleration is evident at times on the Android tablets. While a good experience, you can definitely tell the difference from the iPad2 while scrolling and loading, for example, web pages.

I see the Acer Iconia Tab W500 was suggested. Not a bad Windows7-based tablet, but no camera flash and the rear-facing camera is only 1.3MP. Also, its an entry-level device running a full-blown version of Windows7 which is not meant to be run on a tablet device. As a result, it tends to lag. I'd venture to guess its flash performance is about the same as the Android tablets.

My best suggestion is to wait for something that will really meet your needs. The next-generation of Android tablets will be rolling out this holiday season, with quad-core processors that are 5x more powerful than the current ones in the Thrive/Xoom. A new major version of Android is also rolling out this fall. The iPad3 should be a significant improvement over the current version, but we won't see it until mid 2012. The Apple community has voiced its concerns over the lack of flash in its camera and also the camera resolution, so it'll be likely addressed. Windows8 is considered to be Microsoft's last, best attempt at the tablet market and looks promising, but it won't roll out until mid-2012.

I am graduating from high school and someone wants to get me an ipad as a grad present. Is it worth getting or should i take cash instead?
I feel really spoiled being in this situation. One side of my family is getting me the laptop and the other maybe the ipad or cash and i just got the droid becasue i desperately needed a new phone. I really like the ipad but im not sure

Answer
Get the iPad.iPad will instill good habits in you because interface is so appealing that you will start reading books and books are best friends.

Even if you don't create PowerPoint presentation or hate excel spreadsheet formulas, you will be creating lot of them on iPad because iPad has totally new approach to these functions.

It can be directly connected to projector so you can show presentation. Watching movies online is charm and gaming is game changer.

Battery easily lasts for 15 hours that makes it even more useful.I never go anywhere without my iPad because I can do almost all my office work on right from making word document to joining meeting remotely.

Why I like iPad the most is it's ability to access content from from app to another. I create a word document using app Pages and upload to googleDoc,drop box or anywhere with just one tap and then access my work from other apps like GoodReader or Downloader.

The time, a computer takes to boot, is enough for an iPad to finish many jobs.

Photo editing is incredible. Reading magazine and Newspaper have become enticing.Watching sports action is spectacular.
It's so light and thin but still does everything that regular user would do on a computer.

If somebody says it doesn't support flash so you won't be able to online video, don't believe because I use iPad everyday and watch online video all the time. Flash is past HTML5 is in.

Should I get the Motorola Droid, Blackberry Storm 2, or wait for the next greatest VZW phone?

psycjguy

I currently have a blackberry curve and I am looking to upgrade. My curve is not broken or anything so I am in no hurry. I have been looking at the new phones and they seem to do a lot more than my curve does. LOL

Answer
I have had several Blackberry phones over the last 2 years. Started with the Curve 8830 and fell in love with it! Since then I have had the Tour, Storm, and Storm 2. I LOVED my Storm 2, but when my brother got a Droid, I had to return my Storm 2 for the Droid. It is an AWESOME phone. It is totally customizable and has push email for Gmail or other email (except Yahoo unless you pay Yahoo's fee to be able to port your email). The App Store has tons of Apps for anything from games to photo editing to a flashlight (which BB also has a flashlight app). The drawbacks are the thing about Yahoo email and the slide-out keypad sucks on the Droid. Even tho the keypad on the Storm was a virtual qwerty keypad, I liked it MUCH better than the Droid's keypad.

At times I really miss my Storm 2, but there is just so much more available on the Droid that I try to suffer through the terrible keypad usage daily.

As far as the upgrade goes, there are a few new phones coming out on Verizon next year, including the Palm Pre (which I am personally going to have to try out), the BB Tour 2, and a couple of other Android phones which don't seem like they are going to overpower the Droid.

I can't tell you which way to go because I am constantly on the fence about phones (friends call me the eBay queen because that's where I get most of my phones). The browser is excellent on the Droid and is just okay on the Storm 2 as far as the speed goes. I guess you just have to decide which is more important to you. Like I say, I debate on selling my Droid even tho I really like it and getting a Storm 2 every day, so I may be of no help! I may just have to face facts that I am a Crackberry addict for life! Hahaha!

Answer
~the best {funnest} thing that youcan do on an ipod touch [2nd gen.] is probably getting on the internet or downloading tons of cool-eo apps lol
~yes wi fi works good...its not as fast as your computer... but its nice that its there i love it
~ummm...i mainly download free ones so that i can save my money for music and stuff (i have the iphone) and i like trace and scribble (i use scribble as a photo editing kind of) and i also like jelly car and dots free...papi jump is pretty neat...oh and for $0.99 you can get Quordy and its a realllly fun word game {if ur a geek like me =)]
and dont forget tap tap revencge its freeand its kind of like guitar hero for you ipod but with only 3 strings
~you cant download games onto an ipod touch like you can with an ipod with a clickwheel...they are set up different i think...so yea

How to transfer iPhone pics to an iPad?

iphone photo apps multiple pics on new GPS app from MotionX for the iPhone provides door-to-door ...
iphone photo apps multiple pics image

Katherine

I want to be able to transfer multiple pictures from an iPhone to an iPad, without using a PC or MAC to do so. I was wondering if there was an app that would allow me to do this on the go.
I want to transfer many pictures at once, not just one at a time.
I need to do this using only the iPhone and iPad, without a PC or Mac.

Answer
It's very simple and there are many ways to do it.

There is app called "Photo Transfer" you can select unto 50 photos at once.

Other way is install free app Photo Bucket on both the devices. Upload all the photos to Photo bucket from iPhone, open Photo Bucket on iPad and download all the photos.

There are at least 100 more ways to do that.

You don't need PC OR MAC to transfer photos, contacts, notes, documents, videos saved in apps other than iPod , from iPhone to iPad or vice versa.

Who are these morons who are advising software for it ? Are they crazy ?

There are many free apps are available why would anybody download crappy worthless ,rotten, cheesy software on computer and then do the task?

How often do you have to "sync" an i-phone? What does it do?

Tucker

Answer
You only have to sync the iPhone when you want to backup the data on your iPhone (e.g. contact list, calendar, photos), when you want to update the phone with music, movies, videos, or podcasts, or when Apple releases updates for the iPhone.

The iPhone is an amazing phone, well worth the purchase. I have been using the iPhone since June 29th, and just can't get enough of it. I recall saying that if the iPhone was half as good as the ads show it to be, it would be incredible. I am happy to report that the iPhone is as good, if not better than what was shown in ads. Almost every day, I find something new I can do with it, or a new feature. While there are some shortcomings (no device would ever be perfect), the iPhone is truly an amazing device and I think that just about anyone would love it.

Pros:
- Compact
- Revolutionary and easy touch-screen interface.
- Easy-to-use.
- Quick access to every feature.
- Beautiful screen, easy to read even in direct sunlight.
- Cool and intuitive graphical user interface (GUI).
- iPod, Video iPod, Web browsing, e-mail, and phone all in one!
- Easy e-mail access from multiple accounts (you can get e-mails from Yahoo!, GMail, and many other accounts).
- Allows viewing of various attachments (e.g. PDF)
- Google Maps and driving directions make finding places and adding to your contact list a snap.
- Great widely used applications (Stocks, Weather, Maps, YouTube, iPod, etc.)
- Built-in WiFi (Zoomzoomzoom! Fast, fast, fast!)
- Features can be updated via a simple sync.
- Feels solid, metal-like.
- Scratch resistent screen (although, I would recommend getting a screen protector).
- Fairly good phone quality.

Cons:
- 4 GB or 8 GB may be too small storage capacity for those people who want to carry all of their music, and some videos with them (although psychologically either capacity sounds too low, in reality, even the 4 GB version would be more than enough for those folks wanting only a segment of their song listings -- over 850 songs if you max out the 4 GB -- or put a couple of full version movies and about 120 or so songs, or any number of combination may be just enough for many, if not most, users).
- No physical keyboard (the keyboard is accessed on the screen and would take a few days to get adjusted to).
- Can't attach files in e-mail (although you can forward attachment you receive on the iPhone via e-mail).
- Can't save images that were sent via e-mail.
- Can't open certain attachements (e.g. MS Office, etc.).
- Can't change position of icons and info (stocks, weather) (this will most likely be changed via software update from Apple).
- Can't change ring profiles on the fly (this will most likely be changed via software update from Apple).
- No drag-and-drop capability.
- Can't download pics to use as wallpaper unless its from the camera.
- Email doesn't switch layout from horizontal to vertical like the Safari Web browser does (this will most likely be changed via software update from Apple).
- No back button, have to always press the Home button for the main menu.
- Can't download additional ringtones (this will most likely be changed via software update from Apple).
- Third-party apps can only be accessed via the Safari Web browser (this can also be a good thing as it protects the phone from issues relating to installing applications on a device).
- No SD card expansion slot.
- You have to sync to get music/videos/podcasts.
- Uses the slower EDGE network instead of 3G network (this can also be a plus as 3G would suck battery life).
- Camera does not take videos; no flash.
- Screen smudges easily (I highly recommend getting a screen protector).
- No Adobe's Flash support (this will most likely be changed via software update from Apple).
- Battery is not user replaceable, and would cost $85 to send to Apple for replacement.
- Can't use bluetooth stereo headphones (this will most likely be changed via software update from Apple).

If you use your computer mostly for e-mail and some Web browsing, and are looking for an amazing phone that will allow you receive/send e-mail, browse the Web, and have the best of iPod and Video iPod, then the iPhone is for you. Although it is costly ($499 for the 4GB version, and $599 for the 8GB version), the phone offers the best of all worlds when it comes to multi-functional mobile device.

Although there is a rumour of a smaller, Nano-like version of iPhone with less functionality as the original iPhone coming out later this year in the U.S., a new version of the full-featured iPhone are unlikely to be released in the U.S. market until mid-2008. The European version of the iPhone, offered for the 3G network (much faster than the AT&T's EDGE network) is slated to be released by the end of the year.

Bend Android Vieos apps to upload the pictures and videos?

free photo editing apps for ipad 3 on ... Photo Editor 1.0.1 App for iPad, iPhone - Photo & Video - app by Free
free photo editing apps for ipad 3 image

nicevenu

i have samsung android phone. due to my son videos my phone is full.

Im getting the IPad 2 and i wanted to know what you could do with it? Like some cool apps or interesting facts?

lizze.h

I'm just asking what are some fun apps or really fun things to do with it! Or slim treating Facts. Tell me anything you know about the iPad 2 thanks!

Best answer 10 points!

Answer
Most iPad apps are pretty cool. Some of my favorites are...

1. iPhoto, This app is pretty cool because you can take and edit photos very well.. in a fun way.
2. Gangster Rio, Where's my Water... All sorts of cool games.

The iPad 2 offers a brilliant high resolution display, not as high as the iPad 3, but still pretty good. It also has a dual core A5 chip which runs at about 1Ghz. Overall, the iPad 2 is AWESOME! To be honest, there are way too many things to explain.

More apps...

Newsstand
Newsstand keeps your favorite newspaper, magazine, and journal subscriptions in one convenient place. As new issues become available, they automatically go on display. Running low on reading material? Tap the Store button to start shopping for new titles in the App Store.

Messages with iMessage
Talk it up with fellow iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch users running iOS 5. iMessage on the large iPad display is text messaging made beautiful â and free over Wi-Fi.* If words arenât enough, you can send photos, videos, locations, and contacts, too.

Notification Center
iPad works with your apps to let you know about missed messages, calendar invitations, friend requests, and more. New notifications appear discreetly at the top of your screen â without interrupting what youâre doing. And you can see a summary of recent notifications when you swipe down from the top of any screen.

Safari
With iOS 5, itâs even easier to see the web. Tap Safari Reader to read articles without ads or clutter. Add article links to your Reading List. And keep multiple web pages open at once and quickly switch between them with tabbed browsing.

Twitter Integration
Twitter is integrated into iOS 5, so you can sign in once under Settings and begin tweeting directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, and Maps. You can even start typing a friendâs Twitter handle and iOS will autocomplete the rest from your contacts.

AirPlay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring lets you wirelessly stream whateverâs on your iPad screen to your HDTV via Apple TV.1 So everyone in the room can see what youâre seeing. Even when you rotate iPad from portrait to landscape or zoom in and out.

More info....

The iPad 2 also comes in versions of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, each with wifi, or wifi with 3g options.

My 8gb iPod touch 2nd gen holds about 600 photos, 100 apps, 1podcast and 335 songs. I really would like to know if the 16 will be enough or will I need the 32. Also I would like to have maybe 2000 songs, 200 apps, 25+ videos and 2000 photos. Thanks.

Answer
I recommend getting the biggest one You can afford, because You'll have more and more stuff and that stuff will take up more and more stuff. My dad has 16GB, he thought it's going to be enough, but after less than a year it's not enough anymore.

What are some good iPod touch/iPhone apps ranging from 1-10 dollars?

storminmor

I have over 100 apps but currently received a giftcard and would like to use it. Free app reccomendations would also be appreciated.

Answer
One of the best ways to use up that gift card would be to get a few apps that can actually save you money. Then it will end up paying for itself.

pic2shop is an excellent one that lets you use your phone's camera to take a picture of the barcode of any product. The app then lets you know the best places to buy the item online.

Also, Amazon Remembers is a very interesting one that allows you to take a photo of any product and a human at Amazon will hunt the product down online and let you know what it is. It's fun to try and challenge them by taking a pic of a stranger's shoes or other random objects.

There's more money-saving apps here

should i switch from a samsung behold to a iphone ?

iphone 3gs photo applications on ... que le futur iOS 5 ne pourra pas tre install sur l iPhone 3GS
iphone 3gs photo applications image
Q. Right now I have a samsung behold, I like it but im not too pleased, I really like the iphone 3gs i just need to know if its the right choice to switch.

Answer
Iphone...some problems:
No Flash support in the web browser
No true multitasking for all applications
iOS4 for iPhone 3G has limited new feature set
Poor performance on iPhone 3G
No quick toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 3G
No social networking integration
No info widgets on lockscreen or homescreen
SMS tones are still not customizable
No mass mark emails as read
No proper file browser or access to the file system
No USB mass storage mode
No vibration feedback when touching the screen
No Bluetooth file transfers to other mobile phones
Contacts lack a swipe-to-delete or mass delete feature
No SMS/MMS delivery notifications
No smart dialing (but Spotlight is a somewhat of a substitute)
No DivX or XviD video support and no official third-party application to play that
The whole iPhone is too dependent on iTunes - you cannot add the same type of content (video, photos, apps) to the phone from two computers, a regular file management interface would have been much better

I used to have the iPhone 3G and I just got the iPhone 3GS. How can I get all of my old contacts, music, apps, and photos onto my new phone so it just like new?

Answer
I would do a Google search and see what you come up with or contact your phone provider and they should be able to help. If you have a sim card and it fits then your good to go, if not most phone companies can just transfer your numbers over or contact everyone via text letting them know you've changed your number.

Issues with iPhone after updating to 6.1.2?

best iphone 4 photo apps 2012 on The Best iPhone 4/4S Battery Cases | PCMag.com
best iphone 4 photo apps 2012 image

Brina

I have had a brand new iPhone 4S since October of 2012. No issues at all until I updated the OP to 6.1.2 last week. Almost immediately following, I began experiencing:

- Every app closing out after 20 mins or less.
- Inability to shut down phone unless it's plugged into a charger (otherwise it will reboot itself right away).
- If phone is off/dead, plugging it into a charger will not charge the battery.
- Significant loss of battery life, even when no background apps are running/the phone is not being used).
- Sound works whenever it feels like it, and the volume control buttons on the side no longer work. Vibrate continues to work normally.
- Phone constantly deletes contacts (usually the most recently added ones) multiple times.

I realize these are a lot of issues, and am not expecting someone to spend the time addressing each and every one (though it would be awesome if you did!), I'm more curious to know if anyone else is experiencing this once they've updated their OS. I have searched Google and failed to come up with any suitable solutions or answers.

Thanks friends!

Answer
My husband just updated his Iphone 4 with the 6.1.2 last week and has had nothing but problems ever since. Battery drains really fast. Itunes just keeps popping up asking for a password, he enters the correct password but it won't accept it. He then hits cancel but the stupid thing will pop up again later. He can't send photos to an email address, but can send them by MMS. Not sure on the contacts or sound issues yet. Just seems to be finding more and more problems every day since he did the upgrade.

Switching from iPhone to Galaxy S4?

SheSellsSe

Hello everyone. I've had my iPhone 4 for about 2 years now and it broke and it's totally messed up now since I dropped it. Since I'm eligable for an upgrade at ATT, I was wondering how difficult it would be to switch from Apple to Google. I've had my iTunes account for years and have bought many many apps and songs and I wanted to know if I can possibly transfer all my stuff to a Galaxy S4 if I were to purchase one. I also wanted to know if the S4 had an app like the music app on iPhone.

Answer
As the other answerer stated, you CAN'T transfer apps form IOS to Android, you just have to see if the app you once had replicated in Android, many are and more are free!

"f I were to purchase one."
doubt? from the IP4 the first iPhone to have a camera flash to the S4

Just a couple of reason why you should leave the orchard

1) The Samsung Galaxy S II (2) was released in MAY 2011 & has 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor with an 8Mp camera.

18 months later November 2012 Apple puts a 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor & 8Mp camera in a phone and call it the IP5
[Samsung S IV is Octa Core; Quad-core 1.6 GHz & Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor plus 13Mp camera. Samsung has 5 phones superior to the IP5, BUT the IP5 [1.2Ghz Dual Core processor with an 8Mp camera] etc despite being behind in ALL areas has higher the tariffs higher cost than the S IV.

2 You will have BLUETOOTH MEDIA TRANSFER (SHARING) photos / music cannot be shared if one phone is an iPhone

Music etc http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-transfer-music-itunes-android-230232/

I am sure music? is available on Android

You can download it for your iPhone.

It has many filters you can choose from:

What are some good iPhone apps for vintage feel or professional looking pictures?

Charity

I'm looking for some apps that are similar to VSCO Cam, AfterLight, PixlrOMatic, and Diptic... I really love how my pictures look when they have that vintage look to them. I have an Instagram, and I know about apps like CamWow, Camera+, etc. I'm just looking for some apps similar to these that allow a lot of different, high quality customization.

I'm also looking for an app that has really cool shaped frames and kinda like a mirror effect with your images.

If anyone can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Answer
It should have this app called 'Safari'. From there you can buy a real camera.

Kidding aside, there's no way to get 'professional looking' pictures from an iPhone. If all you want to do is add filters, then Instagram and Hipstamatic are the most common.

Chances are, any good, vintage looking photos you've seen Tumblr and other sites were taken with a real camera and edited with real software like Photoshop.

On instagram, i always see pictures with people having half their face as a tiger, or them levitatining, or galaxy pictures. Alot of people comment asking apps they use but they never answer. I was wondering what are REALLY good photo editing apps, and i have photoshop, so if you know how to do any of these things could you share? thanks

Answer
Citrify, iPiccy, PicMonkey, Ribbet, FotoFlexer or Lunapic are great all round web based and FREE editing tools. Adobe, makers of the expensive Photoshop, has a free website version in Photoshop Express.

If you are a former Picnik user than Picmonkey and Ribbet will be your best choices.

If you need/want more features downloading GIMP is a great options. Still free, but you have to download the software.

There are also free tools to add text blurbs, to make collages, to put your photo into other images. There are a number of tools that allow you to put the image of a face into other photos for some fun creations.
