Can't move photos from iPhone to windows computer?

Lady of th

I have an hp Pavilion g6 (I think it's using Windows 7) and I'm trying to move the pictures from my iPhone 4 on to my computer.

When I plug my phone in to the computer iTunes opens up and sinks everything, skipping past the auto play options, I've searched the programs and files using the search bar on the start up menu and looked through the libraries (again using the search bar) and I cannot find my phone. I changed the auto play options from ask me every time to import pictures using Windows Live Photo gallery, and now I have two empty folders but no pictures.

I'm using the latest iTunes upgrade, but I haven't upgraded my phone since the last upgrade (the new one is just a calendar fix, so it shouldn't matter, right?).

I am so lost, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Answer
You import the photos through iTunes. Windows Live Photo gallery cannot import them directly.

So, in iTunes, after it has done the sync, across the top of the screen you'll see Summary, Info, Apps, Music, Films, Photos (I can't remember the order, but Photos is definitely one of the options)

Tick the box that says Sync Photos. Choose Selected Folders, then choose the folder called My Photo Stream.

Then click Sync (at the bottom of the screen)

Once the sync has completed, you'll find the photos in...
Pictures
>> Photo Stream
>>>> My Photo Stream

Can 2 iPhone Apps work together?

Jaclyn Abb

I have the Hipstamatic App and I'm planning to buy the Camera Genius App for its camera timer. Hipstamatic lets you take pictures and they add these color effects to them. I want to use the camera timer on the Hipstamatic App but is it possible?

Answer
I've tried many photo apps and I say the best advice for you would be to buy the Camera+ app. Quick answer is no you can't take a photo with 2 apps at same time.

By far I say it's best photo taking app on
App store so far. It's $1 cheaper than camera genius and features are better in my opinion. Camera+ has a timer and also has more advanced features too. ALSO it let's you take pictures that you took with other photo camera apps and edit them by using different effects, color filters, and cropping, etc.

ProCamera is also a very good photo taking/photo editing app though it's $2.99.

Check the app store and compare both I'm sure you will see that camera genius is inferior compared to both these apps.

Delete photos off iPhone 5s?

West

Ok, so I have no idea what happened, but I have found no way of figuring out how to delete one specific photo. I have searched through iPhoto for the photo, I've tried to delete the albums it is in on my phone, and everything else, but I am having no luck. It is in the "Events" folder, and the "Last Import" folder (though it's an import from like two or three months ago, so it's obviously not the last import). Screenshots included.

(It says November 6, 2012 because I saved it off the internet, so that date's a lie.)

Answer
Try plugging it into your computer. I'm assuming you have a Mac since that says "from my Mac", and I'm a PC guy, so I can't help you much here. Basically, find your iPhone in the Mac file browser, and find the picture in the iPhones storage and delete it from there. I'm not sure if Mac hides the contents of idevices. If so, just google "show hidden folders on Mac." If all else fails, go to iTunes, iPhone, photos, sync from... and pick a folder with a picture in it. Then press apply. Be sure to back up your pictures because this will erase them, I believe. Now, if that fails, and you really care, back up your phone and restore it. Be sure to write down all apps because for some reason backups don't always save the apps.

Apps to make instagram edits?

Katherine

so there are so many beautiful instagram edits..on instagram of course. Edits where people layer pictures, add text, use special effects and stuff. And people create these amazing collage type things. I really want to try to make some of these edits. I've asked people what apps they use, but it seems like verybody likes to keep it a secret. If anyone knows of a good app that combines layering, special effect/filters, the ability to cut out parts of another picture, and adding text, can you please tell me? THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

P.S. I don't mean editing apps that like take glare away or where you can edit out flaws on your face and stuff. This is an example of what i mean: http://in.5thvillage.com/u/babybrinleyy_/?page_no=9&max_tag_id=384414427684007510_190387298

This girl has a lot of Acacia Brinley, Harry Styles, and Selena Gomez edits on her page. I specifically like the ones of Acacia the ones that say "flower child" and "if you love something let it go" (please scroll down a little to view these edits)

How do I use the new iPhone SDK software on Mac?

marich

I recently downloaded the SDK software from Apple to create some applications for iPhone. However, I am a noob with developing software and need some help. I would appreciate it so much if anyone can give me tips on any of the following:
-how to work the SDK
-how to create an application from scratch
-list of codes to do various functions iPhone is capable of
...but most importantly:
-an easy-to-follow guide on how to use the SDK

If anyone even answers this I'll give you 'best answer' because this would help me so much.

Remember, I'm a noob... so if you're going to explain this to me try to put it in simplest form as possible.

Answer
Cool! You're starting to develop! I'm also programming on the SDK...

One problem: Objective C has got to be the hardest language to learn, lol.

Anyway, the SDK itself is just a set of APIs and Libraries for the iPod Touch (so like one of the APIs would be to access the Photo Album on the iPhone).

You don't really work the SDK. I mean, you have to import it so like: #import. Then you can use the commands like .

- (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event {
UITouch *touch = touches.anyObject;
if (!(touch.info & UITouchRighSwipedRight)) {
[self.nextResponder touchesBegan:touches forEvent:event];
} else {
[self handleSwipeRight:touch];
}
}

Application from scratch will require work.

The SDK is simply just a set of APIs and Libraries. Obviously Mac didn't come with UITouch. So that's all the SDK is for...giving you those extra commands that you can call.

If you want to learn, learn C...you'll get it in about a week, then go to Objective-C/Cocoa. Obj-C is a superset of C, so it shouldn't be that difficult. The syntax is approximately the same, it's just the implementation.

It's really really difficult. I don't even know why Apple put it on the freakin front page of the entire site.

Is there any app to hide iphone photos?

WishIwereE

I recently got the verizon iphone four and i love the camera, but my dad wants to borrow my phone sometimes and I want to be able to take pictures without the fear of him looking through them, so I was just wondering if there was an app where I could keep my photos instead of in my built in photo gallery. It doesn't need to be protected or anything, just a secondary storage unit.

Answer
You can try this app, Camera Plus Pro, has a secondary library, called the quick Roll, You can move all your private photos from the Camera Roll into this app. And also password protect your photos. This way better since, it doesn't scream "Private Photos Here!!!!" that would just make anyone curious rite? Try it, great app, lets you do tons of fun stuff to your photos too!

Downloading lightroom on to iPad 2?

Sarah

Can I download lightroom on a iPad 2? I've looked at the apps but all they have are directions on how to use lightroom and tutorials to use lightroom and books and stuff, but I can't find how to download the original lightroom to actually edit photos.. I've seen people on YouTube using an iPad with lightroom on it but there are no videos on how to download it on to your iPad...

Answer
You will have to contact Adobe support for some answers.

To my knowledge, an iPad is not really designed for photographic workflow or retouching your images.

I shoot only in RAW and just after a few assignments, I would totally fill the SSD drive in an iPad even if I had one with a 128 GB SSD drive (the iPod 2 only comes with a 16 gb SSD drive).

My notebook has a 1 tb hard drive, 32 gb SSD and I carry two 1 tb external hard drives when I am on the road for any length of time.

Should I consider replacing my old laptop with an ipad?

Donna C

It's time for me to get a new laptop. I see that technology is moving in the direction of touch pads, and I really like the concept, but I'm not sure if it's where I need it to be yet. I don't know much about apps, but I would be willing to learn if they can do what I need them to do.

I do light graphic design and armature photography on a freelance basis. I see that Adobe has some kind of touch apps coming out but I have no idea what they are capable of. Could I upload and edit RAW format photos? Could I do basic design layouts and create and edit basic web coding? (HTML/CSS)

I also do some copy writing on a freelance basis. I assume that there must be some kinds of apps that are similar to the Microsoft Office suite, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Please fill me in as to whether or not the ipad technology is something that I would be able to use for my work. I would love to embrace this new technology if it makes sense for me to do so at this time.

Thank you!

Answer
I'd get a new laptop instead of an ipad. If you want a tablet that's got a full operating system, get something like the microsoft surface pro.

Connect DSLR to iPad for photo shoot instant view?

E W

I have Nikon D90 and iPad 3, how do I connect both for instant viewing during a photo shoot in a home studio?

Answer
There are multiple android apps that can do this so I'd be a little surprised if there were zero ipad/iphone apps. But then again, apple does get a little flaky when it comes to attaching their devices to non-apple products.

If you have an Android device, have a look at "Helicon Remote". It's VERY easy to use. I just plug my phone into my Canon t3i and I have instant live view, plus total manual control including focus.

ONLINE DSLR-style photo editor?

Steph

Like this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motionone.afterfocus&hl=tl

NOT for iphone or android BUT ONLINE editor. Do you know anything?? Please. Thanks :)

Answer
Looking at the examples in your link tells me that you are trying to fake a shallow DOF, something a phone "camera" simply won't give you.

First of all, I would strongly suggest NOT to fake it - the real thing looks so much better. Getting a real camera is so very superior to using a TELEPHONE to take photos, then having to mess around with it endlessly in an effort to pretend you used a real camera.

If you insist on using a phone to do a camera's job, then get a half decent image "editing" program.
Adobe Photoshop, PS Elements, PaintShopPro, Gimp or even Photoscape (the last two are free).

Using a website is fine if you only want to do a few photos, but resident programs are the much better option if you have more or want to do this regularly. If it MUST be a free website, try http://pixlr.com/ or http://www.sumopaint.com/ or http://aviary.com/ .

Now you need to learn about layers, selections, blur options, masks and gradients.
Lots to learn for so-so results, but yes, if YOU think it is really worth it, it can be done.

Is 16gb for an iPhone 4S enough for me?

Sean D

I'm going to be buying and iPhone 4S in about a week and I was wondering if 16 gb is enough. I'm going to have about a little over 1,000 songs, about 30 apps, and nothing else except a little photos and videos (no movies)

Answer
yes i have 900 songs several apps and photos and have used 7 gb. not all the 16 gb will be available but you can use most of it. The question is what do you want to do in the future , how much will your music collection grow etc.

edit personally i would not change the bit rate of my music collection, some may call it a trick , i call it a good way to make your music collection sound like rubbish, if you need to downsize the bit rate of your collection get a 32gb

Is the Iphone WORTH buying?

I only want answers from people who actually HAVE an iphone. Could you just tell me what are the pros and cons about the iphone because i've never actually bought any Apple products before. My current phone is a Sony Ericsson W910i (just thought i'de let you know) but i want a phone that is alright for music and has fast internet. I also dont really like the idea of changing from Sony Ericsson to Apple unless it's really worth it because i've had only Sony Ericssons ever since my first phone

Answer
iPhone is not just great its the greatest gift mankind has ever received its the epitome of sheer excellence of technology. The era, in which we live cannot be more aptly depicted than by the a phone that can do virtually anything that human had ever imagined.

iPhone is a revolution be part of it just think it has 10,000 apps which is still growing and many of them are free. You can play virtual Golf on it, you can carry entire office with n anytime you can edit all your files n send back to 30 computer at one time. You can make calls from 50,000 ft up in the sky (iPhone's Wi-Fi works in Airplane) You can play music from your computer and from your friends computer while flying in an Airplane.

You can talk on phone at the same time send live photo to your friend.
You can search anything by VOICE COMMAND.
It has 225,000 colors so video looks stunning on it n gaming is blessing.

@James

I dont think James has ever used iPhone coz all that he mentioned that iPhone could not do, actually iPhone could do except video recording which is locked coz corporate houses dont want it to be in iPhone.

Dropped calls: 77% users are fully satisfied with iPhone ..which is highest for any phone. If it has high rate of drop calls people wud not have been overwhelmingly satisfied.

I got my 1st iPhone on first day of it launch in year 2007. Even today battery has amazing duration. Its as good as new after update 2.2.
Some people don't update n start complaining.

It has the fastest internet and websites(dense) on an average loads in 40 seconds which is 3 minutes for Sony Mylo and 1 minute for Blackberry Storm.

Apple never follow the suite, line starts from, where Apple stands. It doesn support FLASH but who cares?
Each and every website are coming up with iPhone friendly website.

Today you have http://m.nbc.com, hollywood pocket and many more where you can stream full episodes of TV shows and movies online.
FOX channel and ABC news has also brought a fully optimized website for iPhone.

You can also stream videos from sites like metacafe, dailymotion,JOOST,REVVY,The Club,Style, com and list is endless.

I already explained why does it not have video recording.

You have to buy ringtone. Yes you have to, coz its not a cheap phone.
But there is always a way. You can download ringtone from torrent without hacking it.

You can make stop motion movie with it and also 3D panoramic picture.
It has some photo editing tool that professional say they can do some outrageous editing using iPhone that they cant do even on PC.

Even I have done some spectacular editing.

There are many ways to store all the SMS. There are many ways to send n receive SMS, actually you should use some free apps to SMS coz those are FREE n better. you can also send MMS.

iPhone supports all the popular format and even if it doesnt who care?

You can send any video to iphone in any format, it will be automatically converted into right format. There are free apps for that.

You can transfer files to iPhone from computer WITHOUT any wired/cable connection.

There are several Apps available in iTunes APP STORE. like Files Lite, Mobile Files, Soonr and many more

You can wirelessly transfer all your files ,music, video, ebooks,PDF ,photos, powerpoint /keynote presentation to iPhone in minutes.

You can even stream music from your computer on your iPhone wirelessly from anywhere.

After using iPhone for over a year and six months I have started to believe :

There are only two kinds of phones:

ordinary phones and the iPhone

@James,

Please ponder the points that I mentioned.

If you have an iPhone you should be delighted to know that you can NOW stream full episodes of TV shows, Movies and almost all the news and music videos for free anywhere.

You should also be jubilant to know you can transfer any damn file WITHOUT any PHYSICAL connection. And need not to worry about VIDEO FORMAT. You transfer any video to iPhone in any format from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Upload video here and it will be transferred in right format on iPhone. And its free.

http://beam-it-up-scotty.com/

And you have another reason to cheer you can now send SMS and MMS to any cell phone.

So, if you have iPhone you should be happy to know these recent improvement that you might not be aware of.

I just tried to spread awareness coz I a geek and other users don't have much time to explore things so I do for them and let them know.

So, start enjoying your iPhone more now coz it has everything now which it lacked untill few months ago. And if your battery is terrible update to 2.2 if its not fixed go to Apple store, they have the best service.

@James

The difference between other smartphones and iPhone is the performance. Before iPhone, I had a Samsung PDA on Verizon, I wanted to use that for my official work but I could not simply coz I didnt find it easy to work with.

But multi gesture has made everything so user friendly.

Regarding MMS, yes you can do from many phone but iPhone has one click MMS facility through app store which is great.
And also it has LIVE PHOTO StREAM that lets you send almost photo in real time while talking over phone.

And now get another damn good app that you cant resist

download unlimited number of songs for FREE right from iPhone.

install an app idownload. and then visit website http://seeqpod.com

yes, you can send video to other smart phones too, but it must have Wi-Fi capable and Storm doesnt have Wi-Fi.
Since Storm doesnt have Wi-Fi it wont have MMS,SMS (wi-fi based) It wont have VoIP either.

G1 is good but still a baby. Google and Apple are friends so I wont comment anything against G1.
Google is the first app that gave FREE VOICE SEARCH to iPhone.

On iPhone you cannot only view but also edit all the files are not even on your device. IT also has TV out.

The reason for its smooth performance is it's operating system which has a proven track record.

Should I get the Motorola Droid, Blackberry Storm 2, or wait for the next greatest VZW phone?

psycjguy

I currently have a blackberry curve and I am looking to upgrade. My curve is not broken or anything so I am in no hurry. I have been looking at the new phones and they seem to do a lot more than my curve does. LOL

Answer
I have had several Blackberry phones over the last 2 years. Started with the Curve 8830 and fell in love with it! Since then I have had the Tour, Storm, and Storm 2. I LOVED my Storm 2, but when my brother got a Droid, I had to return my Storm 2 for the Droid. It is an AWESOME phone. It is totally customizable and has push email for Gmail or other email (except Yahoo unless you pay Yahoo's fee to be able to port your email). The App Store has tons of Apps for anything from games to photo editing to a flashlight (which BB also has a flashlight app). The drawbacks are the thing about Yahoo email and the slide-out keypad sucks on the Droid. Even tho the keypad on the Storm was a virtual qwerty keypad, I liked it MUCH better than the Droid's keypad.

At times I really miss my Storm 2, but there is just so much more available on the Droid that I try to suffer through the terrible keypad usage daily.

As far as the upgrade goes, there are a few new phones coming out on Verizon next year, including the Palm Pre (which I am personally going to have to try out), the BB Tour 2, and a couple of other Android phones which don't seem like they are going to overpower the Droid.

I can't tell you which way to go because I am constantly on the fence about phones (friends call me the eBay queen because that's where I get most of my phones). The browser is excellent on the Droid and is just okay on the Storm 2 as far as the speed goes. I guess you just have to decide which is more important to you. Like I say, I debate on selling my Droid even tho I really like it and getting a Storm 2 every day, so I may be of no help! I may just have to face facts that I am a Crackberry addict for life! Hahaha!

What smart phone should I get?

Q. Hi,

I am Canadian and we have the following cellular networks in my area: Rogers, Fido, telus, bell, wind mobile, virgin, koodo, and I think that's it) and I am getting a new phone on August 8 because my 2 year term is up. I had a lg neon and hated it! I like the windows 7 phones and the bb torch. I don't want to pay over $100 for a phone on a 2 or 3 year term. I use gmail and Facebook also if that helps. And I want to be able to simply take a pic then upload it to Facebook. I want to hear what u think of the phones I like and what u would suggest.

Thanks!!!

Answer
I would suggest a Windows Phone 7. Blackberry is an old OS which is getting very slow and has no apps. Windows Phone 7 is a new OS, which still means its growing, but is wonderful. This phone is great for ANYTHING Facebook. All WP7's (Windows Phoen 7's) are required to have a hardware button to go straight to camera click this take a pic, tap on the "..." icon tap share and then Facebook. Nothing else to do. No Facebook app needed, nothing. It even has deeper integration. When you enter in all your contacts it'll ask you if you want to link the contacts to Facebook. If you select yes, all there Facebook data will be avaible right on the contact card. The contact photo will always be up to date with the profile pic of that person on Facebook. You can view all their Facebook photos with a slide to the right and in the People Hub (Contacts) you can slide to the right and see the What's New pivot (WP7's different "tabs" are called pivots) and see check-ins, wall updates for all your contacts that are linked up to Facebook. You can comment and like and even update your Status. In the Photos Hub you can view your Camera Roll photos and all the photo's you have uploaded to Facebook just like they were native. You can do all this without a Facebook app. The Facebook integration is getting even deeper in the next update coming in the Fall codenamed Mango. You can chat with a contact in the Texting App via text, Facebook or Windows Live. You can easily change between services. You will also be able to check in to different places right from the People Hub. You can do all this without a need for a Facebook app. Of course a Facebook app is also avaible for download in the Marketplace. I can go on to say how you can edit Word/Powerpoint/Excel Documents right from the phone or earn gamerpoints and edit your avatar if you use/have XBOX Live. Or I could talk about the awesome Music + Video playback on the phone. But I will let you do some research yourself.

What's the best smartphone for a college student?

wave_ofthe

Comparing price and functionality, which smartphone best satisfies the needs of a college student?
- iPhone 3G
- Rim BlackBerry Bold 9000
- HP iPAQ 910

Answer
Probably the iphone 3G. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
-Great good quality easy to navigate internet that looks like computer internet (except smaller but you can zoom in to areas that you are intersted in) This way you can look up information quickly for assignments or even the latest football scores.

-ipod feature, you no longer have to have your ipod and your phone seperate, now they are all in one device. This will save space in an already crowded dorm room and you won't have to worry about remembering both when leaving and in a rush to get to class. Also every college student needs their musc.

-Plays great quality movies and music videos. Tired of doing homework? Take a break and watch a movie or music videos.

-Apps, great for productivity, games and other useful things. There are tons of apps you can get and some are even free! There are Task Managers or Homework organizers to keep track of all of your homework and to do lists. Lots of fun games if you get bored during class or while waiting in a line. Even useful utilities such as a ruler or flashlight. For other entertainment there are apps such as imilk that looks like your drinking out of a glass of milk.

-E-mail and texting, you can stay in touch with all your friends and you can send and recieve pictures on your e-mail and be able to save them to your photo gallery.

-Facebook applications and Myspace, so you can again keep track of your friends and family on your favorite websites.

-Camera, capture all the special moments during your college days or just take pictures of your silly friends. 2 Mega pixel camera

-Large easy to use touch screen great for doing Everything! The touch screen response time is instant and never lags unlike other phones that are touch screen. The screen does everything from viewing movies, flipping through pictures, texting, internet surfing and everything else in between!

-itunes store, you can buy new songs, and anything itunes has to offer with the touch of a button when on the go. When you return to your computer and sync, it will update your library

-Youtube app, watch all of the latest youtube videos that everyone is raving about. Show all your friends the latest videos at the lunch table.

-Sleek thin light weight design easily fits into your pocket or book bag. And looks stylish too!

The iphone 3G has it all! From internet, music, movies, apps, itunes store and a phone ALL in one! Good luck and Merry Christmas =]

Good iPhone photo editing apps?

Well, Hell

What are some good iPhone photo editing apps that have stamps on them? Like yin & yang signs, and half moon signs in the stamps?

Answer
There are tons of great photo apps for the iPhone and iPad.

Photo Editor - Snapseed is a comprehensive photo app that you'll wind up using every day. Photoshop mobile is another editor to consider. And Befunky is great too with the addition of more fun editing features.

Swap Photo Parts - With Juxtaposer you can take one part from one photograph and add that part into a second photo. With FACE SWITCH you can do just that, switch faces between multiple photos.

Panoramic Photos - Pano features the ability to take 360-degree panoramas using up to sixteen photos with a semi-transparent guide helps you line up each shot perfectly. With Pano's alignment tools, blending, and colour-correction algorithms provide you can really get seamless images in just seconds - I have been amazed.

Need to transfer my iphone music?

Skreekin

Just bought a new 13" MacBook Pro. Already have iPhone 4. Can I just use my iPhone to sync to my MacBook and dump all my music onto my iTunes account there? What's the easiest way to get my music from either my iPhone or old pc (the CD burner is broken) over to the new laptop without spending money on software?

Answer
Many iPhone users have asked this.
It won't be a problem if you use 3herosoft iPhone to Computer Transfer for Mac.
It automatically transfers your iPod and iPhone music, video, playlist, photos to Mac and iTunes. Backup all your music and video in a couple of clicks. Really makes music and videos sharing pretty simple and enjoyable. Wish this can help and good luck.

I think its step by step guide is most helpful.

How do I move a song from my computer to my iPhone 4?

13andfabul

I want to move just one song to my phone, but I don't know how to do it without moving the whole library. And moving the whole library and then deleting everything I don't want would be fine, but if I do that then all the songs that are already on my phone would be replaced. So yeah I'm pretty much stuck.

Answer
iPhone to PC Transfer, the excellent iPhone to PC and PC to iPhone software, is specially designed for iPhone users. It can fast transfer Music, Movie, Photo, ePub, PDF, Audiobook, Voice Memo, Camera Roll (iOS 4 above), Ringtone, Podcast, TV Show, SMS, Contact, Call List from iPhone to PC and iPhone to iTunes library directly. This iPhone to PC Transfer can also copy Music, Movie, Podcast and TV Show from PC to iPhone efficiently and simply.

What are some good photo editing apps for the iphone?

hsjsbs

i want to edit a photo and i was wondering what some good apps are:)

Answer
There are a wide number of photo editing apps that allow you to
1. Add filters, effects, blur, add bokehs etc..
2. Remove blemishes and marks.
3. Edit contrast, brightness, saturation etc.
4. Apply borders, merge two or more photos, collage creation etc.

Thus out of the above categories, I basically use Camera Plus Pro app for photo editing to the fullest.
Check it out here: www.camerapluspro.com

Similarly there are other cool apps too like:
1. Pic Collage, Instagram, Mextures, FaceTune, Diptic, Bokehful etc.
