Should I get an iPad?

I have a laptop but it is old and very slow. I also have an iPod touch 4g. I would use and iPad for photo and video editing, notes for school, games, internet, facebook, and learning apps for my various learning disorders. I would bring it to school with me. If I should get an iPad which generation should I get?

I use my ipad for school too and it works great. Get the new ipad (third generation) for sure because in the next software update this fall it gets siri and a lot of new features but right now the display is amazing and it's really fast for internet.
