Best apps to download for iPhone 4S with Cydia?

best photo editing app cydia on Best Photo Editing Apps for iPhone iPhone Apps and Cydia Apps
best photo editing app cydia image

andrea

Got my iPhone jail broken and want to use the best out of it! What are good downloads for;
-music
-photo edit
-games
-etc
Thanks

Answer
The items you mentioned are best from the App Store. Cydia tweaks are better for themeing, customization of lockscreen, texting apps, etc. I recommend Winterboard, BiteSMS, 3G Unrestrictor, Springtomize, Barrel, F.lux, Activator, Five-Column SB, BatteryDoctor Pro, Infinidock, Infinifolders, NCSettings, Tetherme, and Zephyr, just to name a few. Check them out. All of these tweaks are reviewed and demonstrated in various videos on youtube.

itouch app question, involves installis?

Q. my JAILBROKEN itouch has problems with some apps like resident evil and freeballin. the problem is that when i tap the app to play it loads and then brings me back to the main screenn,, fml. lol how do i fix it. then how do i use ssh to customize my itouchs background. also how do i play quake on my itouch
wat if its off installis or cydia

Answer
If the ones you purchased from App Store are crashing just re-sync it on a computer that is signed into your iTunes account.
Don't use SSH to change the background, either find a background in Winterboard or set a saved photo as the background (Winterboard>User Wallpaper)
Look up the Quake thing.

EDIT: If it's off Cydia or Installous I'm not sure... Maybe re-install. If it has never worked in the first place, it might be that the app is not compatible with your firmware. for example, if you have 2.2.1 firmware and downloaded apps made for 3.0.

Are you excited about the new Apple iPad? Will you be getting one as soon as they're available?

photo editing apps ipad 3 image

Einstein

I must say that if I was a book reader I would definitely pay the extra cash for this device over the Kindle. But, I am surprised at the amount of "disappointment" the new iPad has caused all over internet forums from the geek community.
As far as the price goes, I must say that that's a thing the iPad has going for itself. I was expecting something starting at $700.00 and up.
Are you going to stand in line to get one?

Answer
I am definitely going to get one. I like iBook and iWork features and I also love that it can be connected to digital camera directly and import pictures.I am sure it will have some breathtaking photo editing apps.

My only concern is how would i save the document that I create on iPad and how will i be able to download the email attachment. But I am sure these things must have been taken care of.

There are disappointment because of the hype created by rumors. I remember when in 2007 iPhone was launched, it lacked very common feature like video camera, MMS, copy/paste and atleast a 3 MP camera. But regardless, it sold incredibly well because whatever it did, did amazingly.
Apple is not liked for its feature its admired for its ease of use and thats why Apple is loved only by people who use its products. People who don't use never like Apple because their mind cant see beyond features they cant think of performance.

Many people just see the commercial that iPhone cant do multi tasking and then start bragging about it but the fact is iPhone does multi tasking to a very large extent. For example you can listen to FLYCAST radio and creat a word document at the same time. You can run Voice Recording with other apps. You can run iPod with many other apps.

If you are chatting on Ping and get a message on Yahoo Messenger, you are immediately notified. Push notification is way better than running many apps at the same time. If you are FaceBook and an important news breaks, you are notified.

I am sure even with not so good initial response, iPad will rock just like iPhone did.

How to start developing my own film?

Lana T

I have 35mm and 120 cameras. Is one or the other easier to learn? I don't have a clue where to start. Is this something I can do in my kitchen (bathroom's got limited counter space). Should I stay with one company (Kodak for example) and use only their films and chemicals? Are there kits I should look into? Are color negs harder to do than black and white? How about slide film? I shoot Velvia a lot, but enjoy all film types. Lol that was a lot of questions...

Answer
(1) start with black and white film. It is easiest to process. A good way to get yourself acclimated to the process.
(2) I do not recommend the kitchen, it is where you eat. You have to be very very careful not to splash anything on any surface that you might eat from.
(3) I personally find loading 120 film (before processing) a little more difficult than 135 film. But the difference is negligible.
(4) looking at 120 negatives is much easier - due to the size. and it can be easier for you to take notes and modify your process.

I would recommend starting out with the Kodak Developer HC110.
(1) it is cheap
(2) it is plentiful and most places stock it (more so than the other exotic stock.
(3) it is very versatile.
http://www.covingtoninnovations.com/hc110/
(a special website that illustrates most of the special properties of HC110)

http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php
(website that illustrate all the processing times for various films and developers and film sizes)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P9bNcBE_Hc
(I found this youtube channel an invaluable resource in starting out what I need and how to do things. he covers most of the basic principles and it is enough to get started. The expert village videos are a waste of time. )

There is a lot of equipment needed to develop film...There are lots of websites (with pictures) to get a better sense. If you go to B&H photo, there are people there who are really well equipped to help you out. I hesitate to put my equipment list in detail, because i know some people will disagree with me. but here are some of the basics.
- film, film reel, Development tank (I use patterson)
- Chemicals: Developer / stop / fix / hypo agent
- Containers for each developer (don't get them mixed up - label them clearly and use it only for that chemical)
- measuring tools (same with containers, Label and don't' mix them up)
- thermometer
- Plastic baby Syringe - for pouring the HC110 developer syrup.
- Timer (or I use the ipad app http://www.digitaltruth.com/apps/ )
- I use butterfly clips to hang the film to dry.

Edit: it is highly recommended to take a class for guidance at a local college or photography club. I didn't have that opportunity where I live, and had to make a lot of mistakes along the way - which I learned from.

iPhone 5 FPS for still images?

best iphone hdr photo app on Pro HDR produces better HDR photos than Apple's camera app
best iphone hdr photo app image

Adam

I was wondering what the FPS on the STILL CAMERA is. If you tell me 30FPS, which I already know is for video, your answer will be voted down and will certainly NOT get 10 points.

To rephrase the question again: how many STILL IMAGES can the iPhone 5 take in 1 second?
iPhones have no user manual. No one at the Apple store would know because it is not on their website.

Answer
You are asking for still image "burst mode". On *still image capture devices* with this feature, that burst is generally around 3 still images to 5 still images per second. This can be a film camera (like a higher-end film SLR with a motor drive) or a digital still image device (like some point and shoot digital still image cameras, including bridge cameras and most sub-$1,500 dSLRs). The feature is typically used by (1) allowing burst mode in the camera's option menu or (2) pressing the shutter release button and holding it down while capturing stills for as long as the shutter release button is pressed.

Your reference to "30 fps" is irrelevant to still image capture. 30 fps is NTSC standard video capture frame rate. Still image capture has very little (or nothing) to do with video capture. The number of photos it can capture in 1 second is related to the time it takes for the person using the still image capture feature to press the shutter release button, wait for the still image to be written to memory and allow the camera to return to still image capture mode so the next image can be taken. This time can vary because of the different options available for the still image capture.

For example, using the iPhone's "HDR" feature results in two images being captured and processed/stored (if that option is selected). Capturing a panorama is another still image capture feature and is take a long time to pan across 240 degrees. The iPhone has no "burst" mode. HOWEVER, technically, if the digital still image capture is merely a single still, if the iPhone is in HDR mode, it captures 2 stills per second of the same image. One is "normal" and the other is the composite HDR image.

Clarification: The iPhone might not have a *printed* manual, but the soft-copy manual is a link in the iPhone's Safari bookmark section, "iPhone User Guide". Using the links at the top of the iPhone page at apple.com provides a relatively useful "manual", too
http://www.apple.com/iphone/
Why iPhone
Features
Design
Built-in Apps
App Store
iOS
iCloud
Tech Specs
This "table of contents" is similar to many manuals usually included with cameras, camcorders, and other electronic devices.

Also, at apple.com in the Support area http://support.apple.com/manuals/
there is a link to the iPhone User Guide in the section labeled "Manuals". It is the same "manual" in the iPhone Safari book mark area referred to in the beginning of the "Clarification" section of this post.

Reading through these iPhone 5 manuals did not identify this feature as being available.

Again, at apple.com, in the support area, use of the Communities is a great way to ask questions about various Apple products and capabilities.

And last, the Apple store folks are not the only resource available. Any of the cellphone service providers which carry the iPhone 5 would be good resources, too.

Please keep in mind, that as good as the iPhone is, it is a Phone - hence its name. Anything else past being a phone is a convenience feature. If there is a specific need for a specific capability other than be a phone, then the best course of action is to get the device with a primary design capability to meet your feature requirement. In this case, a digital still image camera with a burst mode feature would be the prudent path forward for you. Another option would for you to try and write an app for the phone so that the phone can capture the still images according to your burst mode still image capture requirement.

Is it dangerous to post photos on the net without editing?

Emily

hi. I'm talking about iphones and digital cameras and cellphones.
I have a few cats in my house and i often take photos of them for my blog.
Since I'm not good at editing photos, i often post their photos without editing anything.
Then a friend of mine told me that i should use photoshop or some tool and edit each photo otherwise someone could get some info's about where I live.

Is that true? I've heard about GPS thingy and such but not sure how it's possible.
Should I edit each photo before I post it online?

Answer
What your friend is referring to is called EXIF data. Depending on the phone/camera/format, it may store information such as GPS (geolocation) and time taken.

Here's a list of some of the attributes that are listed in the EXIF data:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchangeable_image_file_format#Example

Here's a website you can upload your pictures to if you want to see what EXIF data is available:
http://regex.info/exif.cgi

How to disable geo-tagging on an iPhone:

1. Turn on your iPhone, and select "Settings" from the menu screen.

2. Press "General," and then select "Reset."

3. Select the "Reset Location Warnings" option.

4. Press "Reset Warnings."

5. Press and open your camera application on the menu screen. Select "Don't Allow" when prompted.

The founder of imgur (honestly, the best image hosting service online) supports privacy and one of his main reasons for creating the imgur service was to help people maintain their privacy when posting images - Imgur.com strips out exif data of all images uploaded to it.

There's also an imgur apps for mobile:

Ever since I installed iOS4 on my iPhone 3G it's been lagging with loading and typing and the apps crash all the time. Is there anyway to fix this by resetting the phone? Will I lose all my numbers and photos?

Answer
It probably won't fix it, you will have to wait for the next update of iOS. If you do choose to restore it back it up first by plugging it into iTunes, right clicking on your device, then hitting backup. After that is done, hit restore. After that you just need to wait for it to be done then it will have the option to restore it to the backup of "Your iPhone's name here" and all your numbers and settings will be back.

I will be purchasing a macbook for college in a few months. Do you suggest a macbook, or a macbook pro? What about the amount of memory I need? Extra programs? Basically, if you were to buy a new macbook, and could customize it to be the perfect college tool, what would you suggest getting? Thanks for your help in advance!

Answer
Let's do a comparison of the Macbook versus the Macbook Pro.

CPU
Core 2 Duo 2.26 Mhz (Macbook)
Core 2 Duo 2.53 Mhz (Macbook Pro)
The Pro edition has a CPU that is a little bit faster but the 2.26 Mhz CPU should be sufficient for running the most demanding software unless it you are working with a large amount of data like in video editing applications.

SCREEN
13.3 inch, 1280 X 800 (Macbook)
13.3 inch, 1280 X 800 (Macbook Pro)
Large enough to work comfortably but not so heavy so that it is a pain to lug it around campus.

HARD DRIVE
250 GB (Macbook)
250 GB (Macbook Pro)
Plenty of storage for all your software. It can store a lot of data too. Unless you have a massive collection of MP3 music, high resolution pictures or video files, this is more then sufficient. If you need more storage, you can always use an external hard drive or USB flash drive.

MEMORY
2 GB (Macbook)
2 GB or 4 GB (Macbook Pro)
The base 2 gigabytes is sufficient to run all Mac OS 10.6 applications I can think of unless once again you are working with very large files or doing a lot of multi tasking. Then you can go with the Pro and opt for the extra memory.

GRAPHICS
nVidia GeForce 9400 (Macbook)
nVidia GeForce 9400 (Macbook Pro)
Good mobile GPU for most games at a 13" monitor resolution. Capable with video & graphics editing. Insufficient for some games which demand a powerful GPU. Games like Crysis for example.

PORTS
2 - USB 2.0 (Macbook)
2 - USB 2.0, 1 - Firewire 800, 1 - SD card slot (Macbook Pro)
The SD card slot comes in handy when you want to take your memory card out of your digital camera and view it right away with the Macbook Pro. If you do not work a lot with digital photos, the Macbook is fine. You can also purchase external memory card readers.

The two systems are very similar as you can see. If you are on a budget, go with the Macbook as the drawbacks are very few. If you want to splurge on a faster system to last longer, go with the Macbook Pro. Both are great choices.

How do I edit my videos that I took on my flip Cam?

KatieCohen

I am going crazy.. there is no way to edit them through the flip cam software.. I want to add effects and things like that (I make youtube videos) I would like to do it for free also..

Answer
Hey itsamystery,

I would recommend trakAxPC Pro, which is a great new audio and video editing software package. It's an all-in-one multimedia editing suite and will allow you to edit your flip camera videos and then directly upload your final video mix to YouTube from the application. You can also save your final video mix to file formats such as wmv, mp4 so you can play it on different media devices such as iPhone, iPod, PSP etc.

It is extremely user-friendly and allows you to be creative using any combination of media, be it audio, video or photos.

New features include direct upload to YouTube, text and credits, automatic crossfading, BlueCat Audio Effects, segment snapping and grouping tracks, as well as exporting and converting media files to popular file formats such as MP3, MPEG-4, M4A, AAC, H264, FLAC, OGG, WMV, WMA, WAV and more.

It's free to try for 30 days and thereafter costs only $24.95. After 30 days the Pro features are disabled and you can continue to use in free mode if you haven't purchased it.

If you want to learn more about the features, click the link below:

Hope this helps.

What are some really good photo editing apps?

Hannah

I have an ipad mini and I really want to get into editing pictures. I havent tried taking pictures from the ipad but i do take pictures from a digital camera and upload the pictures to the ipad. I would like to enhance these pictures and make them really nice. What are some good photo editing apps? I dont want to pay too much for the app. The most i would pay is $10 but I would only pay that much if its a super spetacular app. Also, I need some inspiration for taking pictures. I am a 13 year old girl and need some ideas on what to take pictures of so i can edit them. i really think that this would be a good hobby to get my mind off of the stress in my life. So good editing apps and inspiration please:) thanks

Answer
Pixelmator is good but a little over your budget ($15). For the inspiration check out photography blogs on tumblr or you can go to a big book store where they have a photography section and find photo albums of a famous photographers, they're usually expensive but you don't have to buy them you can just look through the pictures.

Necessary skills to learn when getting into the internet marketing business?

photo editing apps for java phones on Facebook App for Normal Phones - Launches for 2,500 Mobile Devices
photo editing apps for java phones image

.

I've been thinking of doing some type of businesses based on the internet, such a hosting service, but I'm not sure what skills I need.

Does it help or is it a must to learn at least a moderate level of C++, html, etc? It seems it would be, but I'd like the opinion of experienced people here so that I can be more prepared. I'm a complete at this.

And thanks in advance.

Answer
First pay no attention to the first 2 answers because those are obviously people who are just trying to spam Yahoo answers to make them self money.

Hopefully I can answer your questions since I've been in this field for a while.
Internet marketing isn't as easy as people or late night tv commercials make it out to be. If it was, then everyone would be doing it and be rich right?

So lets get to the basic skills you need. Depending on what you want to do is what will dictate what skill set you want to have. Of course the more skills you have the better.
Programming languages such as C++, C# or .net are only needed if you are intending to build programs to sale on the internet or build giant social networking sites. Not really internet marketing. If you want to get into hosting or security then a solid UNIX/Linux and C++ background is what you need.
If you want to get into building mobile apps for phones then Java will be your best bet because most every system can run Java and its pretty easy to learn. Android is growing fast and Objective C is good only for iPhones.

Now for internet marketing specifically. If you are going to build a site from scratch or use a template then you need to have a working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, and CSS. If you are planning on using blogging software like Wordpress or Blogger, then HTML, CSS and PHP are what you will need to know. Being a pro at it isn't necessary but having a solid understanding and being able to read and understand the code is a great help when trouble shooting sites. And trust me, you will trouble shoot often.

Additional skills to be familiar with is photo editing software like Photoshop or Paint.net. Being able to take, create and alter your own images will help a lot with saving time and money when you can do everything yourself.
The last skill/tool that you will need is being able to write. Write unique, original and appealing content and write often to be able to gain a readership or being able to sale your product.

Hopefully this is gives you a good idea as to how to get started. There is a tone of information on the net so always keep reading and learning. Soon you will be able to filter out what is real and what is useless.

which software I need to download for running java?

I own you

which software I need to download to run java programs
1) I only need to run the program through command line input -
using javac filename.java -> java filename
2) I downlaod java (TM) 6 update 12 , it doesn't work

3)The java company is so stupid, why do not call the software "Java - XXXX"? xxxx should be the year of production. what is the BS "(TM) 6 update 12" mean?

Answer
The iPhone OS's user interface is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. Interface control elements consist of sliders, switches, and buttons. The response to user input is supposed to be immediate to provide a fluid interface. Interaction with the OS includes gestures such as swiping, tapping, pinching, and reverse pinching. Additionally, using internal accelerometers, rotating the device on its y-axis alters the screen orientation in some applications.

A home screen with application icons, and a dock at the bottom of the screen, showing icons for the applications the user accesses the most, is presented when the device is turned on or whenever the home button is pressed. The screen has a status bar across the top to display data, such as time, battery level, and signal strength. The rest of the screen is devoted to the current application. There is no concept of starting or quitting applications, only opening an application from the home screen, and leaving the application to return to the home screen. It is possible to force an application to quit by holding down the home button, however. While some multitasking is permitted it is not obtrusive or obvious. Third-party apps are quit when left, but with a future software update, notifications will be able to be pushed from Apple's servers to the iPhone or iPod touch. Many of the included applications were designed to work together; allowing for the sharing or cross-propagation of data from one application to another (e.g., a phone number can be selected from an email and saved as a contact or dialed for a phone call.)

[edit] Application support
The central processing unit used in the iPhone and iPod Touch is an ARM-based processor instead of the x86 (and previous PowerPC or MC680x0) processors used in Apple's Macintosh computers, and it uses OpenGL ES 1.1[6] rendering by the PowerVR 3D graphics hardware accelerator co-processor[7]. Mac OS X applications cannot be copied to and run on an iPhone OS device. They need to be written and compiled specifically for the iPhone OS and the ARM architecture. However, the Safari web browser supports "web applications," as noted below. Authorized third-party native applications are available for devices with iPhone OS 2.0 through Apple's App Store.

[edit] Included applications
In version 2.2, the iPhone home screen contains these default applications: SMS (Text messaging), Calendar, Photos, Camera, YouTube, Stocks, Maps (Google Maps with Assisted GPS), Weather, Clock, Calculator, Notes, Settings, iTunes (with access to the iTunes Music Store and iTunes Podcast Directory), App Store and Contacts. Four other applications delineate the iPhone's main purposes: Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod.[8]

The iPod Touch retains many of the same applications that are present by default on the iPhone, with the exception of the Phone, SMS, and Camera apps. The "iPod" App present on the iPhone is split into two apps on the iPod Touch: Music, Videos and Podcasts. The bottom row of applications is also used to delineate the iPod Touch's main purposes: Music, Videos, Photos, and iTunes.

[edit] Web applications
At the 2007 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference Apple announced that the iPhone and iPod Touch will support third-party "applications" via the Safari web browser, referred to as web applications. The applications can be created using web technologies such as AJAX.[9]

[edit] Unsupported third-party native applications
See also: List of iPhone OS Applications
Currently, the iPhone and iPod Touch can only officially install full programs through the App Store.[10] However, from version 1.0 unauthorized third-party native applications are available.[11] Such applications face the possibility of being broken by any iPhone OS update, though Apple has stated it will not design software updates specifically to break native applications (other than applications that perform SIM unlocking).[12] The main distribution methods for these applications are the Installer and Cydia utilities, which can be installed on the iPhone after major methods of jailbreaking.

[edit] iPhone SDK

iPhone SDK included in Xcode 3.1 final. On October 17, 2007, in an open letter posted to Apple's "Hot News" weblog, Steve Jobs announced that a software development kit (SDK) would be made available to third-party developers in February 2008.[13] The SDK was released on March 6th, 2008, and allows developers to make applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as test them in an "iPhone simulator". However, loading an application onto the devices is only possible after paying an iPhone Developer Program fee. Since the release of Xcode 3.1, Xcode is the development environment for the iPhone SDK.

Developers are free to set any price for their applications to be distributed through the App Store, of which they will receive a 70% share. Developers can also opt to release the application for free

Need reviews on 2 phones? Blackberry Bold& Windows 7 phone?

Jordanlo1

I'm getting a new phone in a month, I have narrowed it down to the Blackberry bold and the HTC HD 7 (aka windows phone)
I need reviews on the phones and your past experiences with them (pros's, con's, would you recommend the phone, etc.)

Answer
Blackberry is getting old and slow and will be gone in the next 5 years. Windows Phone 7 is fresh, new and exciting. They have ability to edit office documents, and to connect to an XBOX Live account to earn gamerpoints right from the phone. It's design is notably different from the competition and is very streamlined and you will come to appreciate the little things in the operating system.
The pro's of Windows Phone 7
-The ability to edit Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and Powerpoint presentations
-The ability to connect to an XBOX Live account to earn gamerpoints and edit your avatar
-The built-in Facebook functionality. You can post status updates, view your wall, like and comment on things, view your and your friends photo's and have a fast an easy way to upload pictures to Facebook
-A camera button that will take you right to the camera. No need to wait and find the application and wait for it to load and miss that perfect shot, its easily accessible with a touch of a button
-Live Tiles which bring you all the information you need right to the Start Screen without the need to delve into apps
-A nice growing app store with many major apps such as Angry Birds and Plants versus Zombies just to name a few
-It is different from the other mobile platforms and is designed in a unique way
Con's of Windows Phone 7
-A new platform doesn't always have as many apps as the top phones that have been out for years and have had time to attract developers. This means that Windows Phone 7 won't have as many fart apps as the competiton it will have all the apps that are well known.

I don't know much about Blackberry but I can assure you this: it will be obsolete by 2015.

Go with Windows Phone 7. You will not regret it.
