I imported my photos on my vaio laptop and when I want to save them after I edited them it won't let me...!

Well I have a project which I need to complete which includes pictures,music, and possibly video. Because Windows Movie Maker basicly screws with everything does anyone know a better easier to use editing program which can incorporate music pictures and video into a single slideshowish presentation?
