I have an iPhone 3G with 3.0 firmware that is sync'd to my computer, if I sync it to my friends computer to download apps using his internet, will those apps get deleted when I re-sync to my computer? or does it just sync music and pictures and stuff.
OK WILL SYNC'ing TO ANOTHER COMPUTER DELETE THE CURRENT APPS INSTALLED ON MY IPHONE?

Syncing with another computer will delete EVERYTHING that is currently on the iPhone. This includes applications.
In your case, if you sync your iPhone with your friend's computer, your iPhone will only have the stuff that is on your friend's iTunes (music, photos, apps, etc.) Once you sync back with your own computer, you will lose all of your friend's apps, music etc. and you will be left with your own iTunes apps, music, etc.
Long story short, when you sync with your computer, the iPhone takes everything from that computer, and the iPhone can only sync with one computer at a time. You can't pick and choose what you want from random computers.

How to transfer data solely from iPhone to new iTunes library?

I have an iPhone 4S. My previous computer was completely destroyed during a storm, so I have no access to my old iTunes library. Is there any possible way to transfer the data on my iPhone (music, messages, pictures, everything) to a new iTunes program on my new laptop? I know syncing is kind of a one way street, but is there any way to go the other direction?
